I have been adventuring with 22 Senior Citizens. This was a 2 day white water rafting trip down the Pecquare river. So exciting. Beautiful scenery and wildlife. This amazing place is only accessible by raft or kayak. The rafting guides did the cooking and the local indigenous people maintained the accommodation. It was spotlessly clean.

By far our most favorite place we stayed while in Costa Rica. The whole experience, staff, surroundings, food, room, wildlife, hiking, waterfalls...there are too many awesome things we have to say about this place! Beyond words... Just.go.there.

I just stayed at the Rios Tropicales Lodge in April 2016 for two full days. First off we white water rafted it to and from the lodge. The waters are a bit low in April which is towards the end of the dry season but still fun. The lodge itself is very comfortable and picturesque sitting in the middle of...

We spent one night at Rios Tropicales while on 2 day rafting trip down the Pacuare River with an REI tour. It was a beautiful and comfortable place - not luxurious but definitely a higher level than we expected for being in the middle of nowhere. The room was large, the view of the river from the balcony spectacular (and...

After a fun whitewater rafting trip to get here, you will be absolutely delighted at the accommodations, food, views and atmosphere. With no access to wifi, top-notch lodging and hammocks by the rapids, this is the perfect spot to unwind and relax. There is a really high hanging bridge nearby over the rapids - it was higher and more scenic...

We had booked the three night, four day rafting trip. Slightly nervous but really enjoyed first half of the river ( level 3 ). Felt very safe with our guide Esteban. We let all the others go so only the two rafts on the river. We were able to stop and swim whenever we wanted to. Also stopped for the...

We did 2 day, 1 night trip. The Lodge and food exceeded my expectations. We almost splurged for the Pacuare Lodge (3X the cost), which looked really nice when we passed it. However I think this was an even nicer setting with a cool creek running through the middle and a private bridge and trail across the river. Get the...

We stayed there for two nights, hiking up to the indigenous village on the second day. It was definitely worth the difficult hike, and we even got to the speak to one of the locals while we were there.

We stayed there for one night at a two day river rafting, it was in the middle of the river rafting. Very welcoming place, the atmosphere is extraordinary, all the staff prepared the meals, including the rafting guides, and you can fill like a big family. The view from the lodge and the cabins is like paradise. You need to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our multi-day trips treat you to an exceptional adventure vacation experience combining rafting on the Pacuare with a stay at our remote "Eco-Lodge", tucked in the rainforest on the banks of the river. A trip of pure magic, unsurpassed beauty, wildlife and ravishing rapids; Pacuare is the quintessential tropical river. Along its course lay several densely vegetated gorges, which shelter, jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths and an incredible variety of birds. Also found within these gorges, is some of the best whitewater in the world. "at its lodge, hammock-filled, thatch-roofed huts, offering dorm and honeymoon style rooms, surround an even larger thatch-roofed lodge net to a gurgling waterfall linking the huts to the lodge’s open-walled dining room, bar and reading room are bamboo-railed boardwalks that make wearing anything but river sandals sacrilegious. Don’t get so comfortable in the reading room’s hammock; however, that you miss the cocktail-hour bell; in true jungle fashion, all apres-paddle drinks are served in coconut shells." (Paddler magazine article, jan./feb.1999, edb). ... more   less
