Hardly the boutique hotel’ they claim to be, more like a poorly run an AirBnB. Arrived to find one of the bathroom bins not emptied from previous guest. Expected more thorough cleaning with Covid standards, not less! Called after hours number, promised to attend to in morning. Only thing done was kitchen bin not the bathroom!? Extremely noisy (on level 3) with construction going on below. What hotel doesn’t pre warn people on their website that major construction is occurring during a certain time period and may cause inconvenience? I’ve seen this often adVertised by other accomodation services leaving the choice to you if you still wish to book. Trades started at 7am everday waking whole family on vaction. Also as mentioned by others, noisy delivery trucks arrive early morning to for fruit shop.
If you want to sleep in beyond 6.30am whilst on vacation, avoid this place.

The apartment itself was very good
The bad points were as follows
The outside space was like sitting in a cage
The view was a red brick wall about 20 feet away which was part of the Hampton fruit and veg market
The generators which kept the market cool ran 24 hours a day
Workers started at 6 in the morning using a forklift
Some trucks delivered goods at 3 or 4 in the morning
One day we had no hot water
I would not recommend staying in room 203 which we had for a month which my wife and I did
I would not recommend any rooms at this side of the building
Would I stay here again - NEVER!

I went to stay at Anchorage Apartment Hotel in Hampton Victoria. On arrival the Apartments were hard to find and to park car - we were told on arrival that my car would not fit into car park as its a station wagon. So we parked far from Apartments to unload the car. This took some time. Once into the very small Apartment we then went to find parking for the car,. We eventually did it took us 1.5 hours. Therefore it took for ever to arrive find the Apartments which are directly over a railway line. We were exhausted. We contacted the Hotel and emailed and said we would stay one night and the second we would not.

aThe apartment was tiny and didn't feel like a beach village stay. The kitchen we dirty and we cleaned before we used. The bed slid around and the mattress kept moving away from bed base. We didn't feel safe as the door was not so secure.

The staff were rude and un accommodating when we arrived and as we had many things in car they said just park outside. We could not do this as we feared people breaking in.

They have refused to refund the one night we didnt stay and stating its there policy.. Of course. we are very upset.. We give it a 2 out of ten and dont go stay there. We moved on and found a wonderful place to stay and had a fab holiday.

Response from Sarah Grimison, Owner at Anchorage Apartments Hampton

Hi Matthew, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. As advised on your pre-arrival instructions and across our third-party websites, parking does need to be pre-booked as we operate a car lift/stacker system. It is crucial for us to obtain the make/model of the vehicle to ensure it fits. Unfortunately, the vehicle you had did not fit into our car stacker, and if you attempted to park it would have caused damage to your vehicle, which for obvious reasons we like to avoid. There is a public car park directly outside of our building where you can park that is not restricted. Hampton is a very safe area and your car most certainly would have been secure parking there. In relation to the cleanliness of the apartment, I sincerely apologize. This should not be something you should encounter as a guest. We would have been more than happy to have someone head up to the apartment and clean it up for you, however, I again apologize for this. The apartment itself is secure and safe. The door does not lock on the inside as it has to meet the OHS fire rules and regulations. However, from the outside, it is locked. The building also requires FOB access, therefore, no one can roam around the building and can only visit their allocated floors. I hope I was able to clear up your concerns. Kindest regards, Sarah

All one bedroom apartments look out to the bins in the laneway. No water in sight. Nothing like the pictures shown on their website. Room is hot and stuffy even though it was a cloudy day. No reception desk and the staff who answer the phones are rude and unhelpful. The most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. We packed up and left in the middle of the night to go back home as we couldn't sleep. Would never book here again.

Great little apartment ! Plenty of space , well appointed- bonus having a washing machine & dryer. Will definitely be back ! Found the parking on site a little tricky as it was a stacking situation so opted for public parking near station . Excellent location -transport , supermarket, bottle shop, restaurants on the doorstop.

Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding and short get away. Was not part of the booking process, so cannot comment on that..... The room was tidy enough, although there were 2 broken drawers (that staff fized quickly). The battery was flat in the carpark remote, so had trouble getting in (again, staff very helpful). We asked for an early check in, which the staff were very happy to accomodate - this did mean that the key wasn't ready, as it was not communicated to the cleaning staff that this was happening. View was not great (stright over the loading dock for the market next door, which was not great for the price). Also, quite noisy - I had to double check that the windows were closed, it was that bad. We had booked for 2 people for 2 nights and were left with only 2 coffee pods & 1 small container of milk - might've been nice ot have a little extra (again, given the price).
Overall, not the cheapest place to stay for the condition but not a bad place to stay either. Very helpful staff, but keep in mind that you will need them.

I stayed at the apartment for work. From Monday to Friday. To get booked into the apartment, I was required to send my ID and my bank card. On the day I was due to check in, the apartment said i needed to send a selfie with me holding my ID and bank card. I was almost homeless that night as I was busy with meetings the whole day to attend to this.

The check out process was worse. I was asked to leave my key and fob in my room when I was ready to check out. However I was unable to access the car park (B1) and the car lift as the key and the fob was in my room. I tried to call the number but they were not able to help me. I was delayed by 2 hours from going to work because of this.

As much as the place was clean and tidy, the whole process has put me off. I will not ever stay here again and I would not recommend anyone to be subjected to this ridiculous treatment. Absolutely unacceptable.

This 1 bedroom apartment was really clean and everything was just easy. Close to trains. Close to eating places. Easy check in/out We parked our car in the carpark behind the building with any issues at no cost.
