Fine cuisine marks this hotel above others. In the tiny village of Quarre Les Tombes, in the Morvan Regional Park, this hotel offers something so special that we arranged to return here after a previous memorable visit. Etienne Robbe offers meals that rate as a Michelin Selection. With careful attention to detail, each course is served on beautiful crockery and...

This is the kind of hotel we have been looking for in France. In a peaceful village, with a small garden to sit in, and a pleasant comfortable bedroom. The chef-owner, M. Robbe is a calm marvel, greeting guests, laying tables, giving helpful advice in excellent English, and cooking wonderful meals. I would love to come back.

We have been coming here regularly for many years and it never disappoints. The owner and chef, Etienne Robbe, is a wonderful cook, and a gentle, charming man. The rooms are individually styled and very comfortable. The restaurant is very stylish and the food beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast is a pastry and cake feast! We will be back soon.

Some years ago we were recommended this hotel by another traveling couple. Although it is off the main route we decided to stop over trying to miss the exceptional traffic this July weekend. Arriving an hour later than planned and very travel weary we were surprised by this charming hotel. Exceptional rooms, clean, comfortable bed, super pillows, decor delightful. A...

The little hotel with 7 rooms (?) looks into the green. Our room was large and clean (only on one day we found some of our hairs on the floor) and new decorated. Most important is that you can do a lot of trips from here and in the evening you enjoy the excellent food in the restaurant. The breakfast...

We were given a choice of rooms. They are individually decorated to a good standard. The proprietor was welcoming and apologetic that he was not able to provide us with an evening meal because he had an appointment - he had, however made arrangements with another local hotel for us to eat there if required. Breakfast was good with fresh...

Lovely setting, plenty of parking, easy access, very comfortable rooms and superb, creative and beautifully presented food. The owner, Mr Etienne Robbe, is a treasure. There was a local festivity on the night we stayed but it went quiet soon after midnight and was quite fun.

Le Morvan is just off the A6 between Auxerre and Beaune. The seven rooms are individually furnished to a high standard. All meals are served in the charming dining room. Food is beautifully cooked and presented and menu prices range from 24 Euros to 52 Euros. The hotel is well patronised by the local people as well as being a...

We have stayed here several times now and it never disappoints. We particularly like the personalised menus which browse the various dishes on the demi-pension. The only (very minor) criticism is the fact that the vegetable accompaniments to main dishes are always the same. The rooms are very pleasant. In high summer air conditioning would be nice. M. Robbe is...

This was an overnight stop on the way back from Italy. We have stayed in the Yonne department of Burgundy before but never in Quarre-les-Tombes. We are careful researchers of potential stopovers so we did know Le Morvan was developing a good reputation and I must say we were not disappointed. This is an old style logis with a serious...
