Jan and Marie-Claire have created a delightful hotel in a quiet Provencal village beneath the dramatic backdrop of its old castle. The bedrooms and common areas are tastefully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the newly prepared suite on the ground floor, with French doors opening out onto the sizeable and private garden with lots of comfy chairs,...

La Bastide de Boulbon is a treat. The village is quiet and beautiful, nestled by mountains. The hosts are attentive, knowledgable about the region, and their cuisine is superb. The room we were in faced the garden and the three ancient plane trees. The building itself is exquisitely renovated and immaculate. The drive to Aix en Provence was an easy...

Beautiful old comfortable country house in a tiny village. Well restored and updated in every way. The owners cannot do enough to please. We arrived in the last 2 days before they closed for winter, the only guests, but we were treated royally, they aimed to please and help at every opportunity.

This is a small boutique hotel run by a lovely couple. It is located perfectly in a small quiet village but in a very short driving distance from many of Provence attractions. So you can visit Provence during the day, coming in the evening to a charming quiet place for a night rest. The rooms are modern, comfortable and very...

We spent a week at La Bastide and can highly recommend it. A lovely building set in peaceful gardens in an attractive quiet village. The dinner menu is always interesting and beautifully cooked and presented. We have some food intolerances and Marie Claire and her wonderful chef always had an option for us. Jan's tour advice and maps saved us...

Quiet, idyllic chateau in a quiet, idyllic Provencal village. Really can't ask for more. Only you do get more, because the owners--husband and wife--are superb hosts. Their hospitality puts you at ease in the place and they're terrific tour guides for the region. A week after I visited, I notified them that I left a camera video card, assuming it...

What can we say?... the hotel, the food, the location, all excellent... but, most of all, the warmth and friendliness of the patrons and staff. We cannot thank them enough for a stay which was the highlight of our visit to Provence in late August. Warmest Regards to all from Peter Richardson and family. We look forward to seeing you...

Our two nights at La Bastide de Boulbon were an elegant break from our 4 week trip in France. We enjoyed the restful grounds, well appointed room and great hospitality. Our dinner at their lovely restaurant was definitely a highlight. We greatly enjoyed the drive we took to nearby Les Baux and St Remy following the owners advice on beautiful...

My wife and I travelled to the area primarily to be within reasonable driving distance of Mont Ventoux and to be able to watch a stage of the Tour De France, so we used Sawday's to find accommodation in the right location (rather than just trying to find the best hotel in Provence) and we could not have been more...
