We stayed two nights to attend a wedding at the nearby Old Rectory. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and accommodated in a comfortable twin bedded room on the ground floor with en suite toilet and walk in shower. Tea and coffee making provided but no milk - probably our fault; we should have asked for...

Very comfortable accommodation, rustic and cosy. The breakfast was outstanding and the friendly landlady was happy to cook up what we wanted. The shower facilities were quite compact but in a building of such historic standing it is to be expected and they have converted the building to a high standard and with lots of quirky nooks and crannies so...

As soon as I entered the Old Bakehouse I was greeted by Holly and welcomed. A quick guide around the facilities and asked what time I would like my breakfast. My room was neat, tidy and with a nice view of the courtyard garden. Tea/coffee making facilities and television, a nice powerful and hot shower with all the towels/soaps etc....

Stayed 5 nights in this quaint and comfortable cottage. Holly & Colin were very welcoming, and extremely helpful in recommending places to visit, eat etc. The addition of a small cosy lounge for guests was a bonus which we didn't expect. Excellent choice and well prepared breakfast. Cannot really agree with other reviewers' negative comments, apart from the slight disadvantage...

We stayed here as we had a fishing weekend at Stafford Moor. Our room was small, shower was just big enough to fit in, toilet was tiny. It was a room for 2 but only 1 cafetiere which was one cup size. Breakfast was 8 to 9 with no flexibility for early risers. We had sandwiches made for us on...

A quaint old-fashioned B&B with very charming hosts. The room was lovely and breakfast a delight. A laundry service and local phone were very handy and appreciated. Unfortunately, although advertising wifi on line, it was not an option, which was disappointing. We would not have booked had we known, because in our particular case it was important. We also had...

A good night's sleep is the key to ensuring a good stay. We slept like logs, in a beautiful cozy, comfy and quaint room. Milk in a thermos flask, mystified me at first, but what a lovely touch. A fine selection of teas and coffee, (teapot and cafeteria supplied), plus a couple of good quality biscuits. Hosts. (Holly and Colin)...

We had to dash in early to drop bags and back out again to a family wedding, but not before we were offered fresh milk in a little Thermos (no UHT muck) for a quick cup of tea in our nicely furnished room. A nice selection of tea, too, and a mini cafetiere and decent coffee if you wanted. Basically,...

Thank goodness I opted for this superb guesthouse....the Gods were clearly on my side as I confirmed the booking online. Every aspect of the stay was a pleasure. The Old Bakehouse is just brimming with authentic 'Old English' history, traditions and welcome, which comes as a great relief from the ever growing plasticity of the unfriendly, modern hotel chain existence...

We had a wonderful little break, staying at The Old Bakehouse. Chulmleigh is a very quaint, english country village with nice shops and great pubs. The room we had was lovely - clean, tidy, and we had plenty of tea and biscuits supplied. The breakfasts are AMAZING with lots of choice and the owners were really helpful and nice.

Thank Hannah H
