We loved this place, it is beautiful, peaceful and a wonderful place to relax. As others have mentioned Andrea is very welcoming and helpful, but more than that he seems genuinely friendly and interested and is more than happy to help, this made us feel very comfortable here. I think it would be necessary to hire a vehicle to come...

We found this wonderfully quiet and charming paradise in the hills of Castelbianco to be the perfect start to our holiday in Italy. We wished that we had planned to spend longer as 3 days was not enough. Andrea was extremely helpful, friendly, and very welcoming. The breakfast was perfect and the coffee was great. Our 2 bedroom apartment was...

We stayed in one of the vacation rental apartments for 5 days this month--May 2013. Andrea, Maria and Andrea's mother (and kids!) make you feel at home and Andrea is most helpful with any info you may need. Very quiet area yet close enough to restaurants and markets. The vacation rental was very comfortable with just the right balance of...

What a find! We stayed here with our 3 children and fell in love with it. The owners were so helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was served outside, in the sun, whilst enjoying the view. The food was amazing - fresh fruit off the trees, homemade cakes, proper coffee, english tea. Just perfect....

We contacted Andrea at the Casa dei Nonni when we were planning a last minute climbing trip to the Val Pennavaire and I'm so glad that we did! From the moment that we arrived, we knew that we had happened upon a really special place. The valley is amazing, the town beautifully positioned and the Casa dei Nonni itself really...

La Casa dei Nonni is a wonderful place to stay at for several reasons. Situated in one of the medieval villages in the mountains of Liguria, it offers peace and quiet in the middle of untouched nature on the one hand and a very personal service on the other. Andrea, the owner, serves a wonderful, rich breakfast (very unusual for...

We spent a comfortable and refreshing night at this simple and comfortable agriturismo in the Italian Alps. Nothing was too much trouble for Andrea and his wife. The views were breathtaking and many walks were on the doorstep. The clean and fresh mountain air made a welcome contrast after the heat and noise of the towns. We would love to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Casa dei Nonni is a charming country house located in the medieval village of Castelbianco, west Liguria, near Albenga exactly midway between Tuscany and Provence. 15 kilometers far from the coast you find the Pennavaire valley discovering an unexpected piece of Liguria; an amazing landscape appears to your eyes, since it's impressive to see an "alpine" environment so close to the sea. ... more   less

“It is a little bit uncomfortably cold in winter in separately situated rooms (not in the main house), but in summer this may be an advantage. Зимой было довольно холодно в номере, расположенном отдельно от главного здания, пол слишком холодный, чтобы ходить без обуви, но летом это вероятно становится преимуществом.”

“We stayed in apartment II Roseto which I believe is their newest apartment. We were two adults and had another couple join us for the weekend. Perfect room arrangement as teh two rooms were at either end with common areas in the middle. The place actually sleeps another two 4+2, with additional bunk beds in a connecting area.”
