Apart from security matters which we understand why, the reception only one employee and we had to wait for about 30 mint to check in, the room standard one. The hotel amendment should pay attention to maintenance.
The swimming pools were terrific, but the safety for kids they have to take much more effort, and the towels looked old and turned.
The dinner buffet has few options, and the drinks (soft or juice not included -have to pay for extra -)

The beach access was served with a club car. I could rate the beach 7 out of 10

The pool party at night ( it was the worst experience)

Prices in the coffee shop expensively
Cleanness, I can say it's just good

Well, overall, hardly I can rate the hotel stay 3 out of 5

Note booked in the model of week! I wonder how they will serve ppl on weekends!

Grand East is a great place to stay if you want to experience the dead sea. The rooms are cozy and spacious. They have different kinds of pools for the guests so you don't have to worry about the pools getting crowded.

Cheers to the staff specially at the restaurant who made sure we well taken cared off and quickly cleared our plates.

We recently stayed at Grand East Resort at Dead Sea,Jordan

We enjoyed the stay due to its fabulous location overlooking the Dead Sea and its Private beach.
Rooms are spacious with balconies but surely need a renovation as hotel is a bit old.

Service is prompt.
Food can be improved with more variety.
Spa was superb with the Morroccon lady masseur.
Best was the Manager Mr Samil ul Khateeb, very kind and hospitable.
He helped us with a late check out.
and tried his best to fulfill all our requests at the Hotel.

There are a lot of flies which was a nuisance in many places in Jordan
But i shall definitely recommend this hotel
It's value for money.
Thank Mr Sami ul Khateeb and team for your warm hospitality.

Warm Regards
Tasneem Mamajiwala

Grand East Hotel. An offer was agreed and 150 dinars were paid. It was agreed that there are children at the age of 7 years who told me there is no problem and when the hotel arrived an amount of 20 dinars was added to the requested amount and also the agreement was to have a bed inside the room for children there was no bed. He also said to me with the offer there is lunch and dinner open buffet and there was no buffet that was food consisting of, fish, chicken and white rice and when he asked for water to drink he said there is no water with dinner, and the employee asked for money. Dirty bedspreads. Room is not clean. Deactivated phone. The balcony light does not work. I have a presentation and will submit it to the page. Please pay attention from this bad hotel

I stayed here through no choice of my own with students attending a conference
The good bits: the view from my room was spectacular. The room was very basic but clean. It didn’t have a fridge but what looked like a fridge that did not have any electricity. Some of the staff were kind and tried hard to improve my stay : Motasem in the restaurant who sourced me fresh oranges and Diet Pepsi and was generally kind and helpful and Saleh Abu Owyda the Director of Food & Beverage who had a plate of apples, oranges and bananas delivered to my room after I complained about there being only carbohydrate desserts. The food to a Westerner was shocking. There were raw vegetables and yoghurt which became my meal most times. The buffet did not vary and was poor. The cocktail sausages floating in brown thin liquid and very unappetising looking stews looked so awful I didn’t try them. I am a Westerner but have lived in the Middle East for 4 years and usually enjoy Arabic food. The hotel is like time stood still- like a poor Days Inn from the 80s. If I hadn’t had to stay I would never have checked in so don’t spoil your holiday if you can afford better. The Marriott and the Kempinski are just down the road. I did try to mentally prepare myself to where I was having to stay but it was not a good experience.
When I told a local taxi driver on my way where I was staying and I said “I believe it’s terrible” He replied “ Much worse than that”- He wasn’t wrong!

I had to stay supposed to be in Grand East dead sea for 3 days and 2 nights with a friend since it was highly recommended by someone we know however i cut it for just a day because of bad service speacially with some rude staff. Ambiance was ok, unfortunately not what i expected for the 1st day me and my friend arrived at room 114. A staff whom I remembered so well named Issam at the houskeeping was kinda rude and unwelcoming. We asking for a tissue box, he said yes and didn't gave our request until the whole day. Then my second request was extra coffee, however he said we were given alraedy but actually there was no coffee i saw in the room that's why i asked of it. It's not professional on how he declined the request. Well it's not what he said but it's how he delivered and said the words. I was quiet stunned for a moment on how he spoke to me. I recommend that he should train more on guest service and handling guest complaints. I should suggest that to their Human resource to re-evaluate staff like this. I expected for a good Dead sea experience, unfortuantely the food in the restaurant was not that i expect as well, I am not a picky eater but food is not that tasty. Pool was nice view at the distace however when i approached near some areas are dirty and as of now it's still pandemic it should be sanitized well and clean to avoid guest to get sick. Room cleanliness it was fine and some of those staff i mingled with where nice. Over all experience was very stressful, i didn't relax since i expect it for a vacation. Hotel was ok it's just rude staff giving bad names to hotels like this. Thumbs down for me!

I came for a day trip to the Dead Sea as part of an organised tour. I did not stay at the hotel, we just accessed the beach from the premises.

The hotel sits high on the shore of the Dead Sea. Reception is spacious, cool and classy. There are some shops in the foyer and a bar for the purchase of tea and coffee. Staff were helpful and it seemed like it would be a fabulous place to stay.

Outside, we were able to hire towels and get changed for our wander down to the beach. Changing facilities were sparse, no seats, no hangers... these small changes would make such a difference to the whole experience.

The pools themselves, and gardens, loungers, relaxation areas looked amazing, and the views of the dead sea, the local mountains, and across to the west bank were stunning. I was able to spot a variety of local birds in the surrounding bushes too, adding interest to the visit.

You can walk down to the dead sea shore or you can take a golf cart.
Once on the shore, there are plenty loungers and shade for those who want that.
The mud (whose properties are meant to make you look 10 years younger) has thoughtfully been placed in a handy sand pit for our convenience... you can dip in and coat your skin easily here. There are 2 sets of showers on the beach when you want to wash it all off.
Alternatively, there are pockets of mud on the sea bed itself, so you may prefer to use the mud there and sit on the sunny beach.
Lots of space for guests/visitors to swim in- or rather, float!... swimming is not so easy, and you want to avoid splashing as much as possible so that you do not get the salty water in your eye (it will sting) or in your mouth (bleugh).
A lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Tremendously disappointing. Not even know where to start. A lot of lack of cleanliness throughout the hotel in general: rooms, bathrooms, dining room, tables, glasses, plates... Dust everywhere, paint coming off the walls, beach sand on the beds and floor, closets and broken wood and they don't close, mold and mildew in the showers, dirt on the tiles and drains, yellow and old towels. Broken lamps. They don't make the rooms, don't expect them. The private beach looks like a landfill. Old hammocks, with extremely worn cushions. To the final surprise, the dining room looked like that of a prison. You ask for some utensil and they just rinse it and give it to you. Sticky and dirty dishes. People and children take things from the buffet with their hands without anyone controlling or saying anything. Dirty and used plates, between the buffet trays. Tables without all the necessary utensils and if you ask for them, you have just eaten and they have not yet brought it to you. There is no cold water in the showers. Very old hotel, without any maintenance. The buffet food a disaster. Nothing appetizing, nor varied. There is no fruit any day. We've all come back with stomach viruses.
I wouldn't go back even if they paid me! I do not recommend at all.

The sea is not the only thing that is dead. It seems it has spread to this hotel’s hospitality. Despite having my luggage lost on my flight over, despite being held at passport control for an hour (after getting to the border guard) and despite having a sore throat that felt as if something was burying into my throat, I was very excited about being in Jordan. This was slowly chipped away during my time here while spent at the Grand East Hotel. The check in desk decided to process everyone behind me in the queue before doing my room with no explanation (even when pushed for one). The rooms were squalid and practically everything seemed broken in some way. The nights were interrupted by someone deciding to do late night drilling (not the erotic sort but the kind that involves a power tool). The service desks seemed hindered to need to help when asked a question. Even in my broken attempts to speak Arabic. The lack of anywhere to buy anything of use (especially frustrating when you have no luggage). The restaurants seemed all closed but one. Even finding a coffee in the morning seemed to be a daunting task. The silver specks (too few to call it a lining) were the two shop owners and the spa staff. So I am nicely massaged, tired beyond sense and now wearing an ill-fitting outfit thrown together by what I could only guess would be the correct size waiting to escape this place. I recommend you do not stay here.
