Located in a forested area about a twenty-five minute uphill walk from the village, or a five minute taxi ride (CRC 1500). The hostelry is a somewhat sprawling mash up of new and old construction, and is certainly eclectic. Its definitely quiet, and the staff are all great! There is a small bar off of the lobby, and a dining...

Pretty place up in the mountains at Monteverde. Grace (the owner), is very nice & helpful. Our room was clean. Loved the balcony that is surrounded by forest. Breakfast was included & was the traditional "Gallo Pinto" (rice & black beans). There was also scrambled eggs & toast. Food was seasoned well. The Gallo was better than the Gallo we...

We traveled to this area on a school tour and the hotel was chosen by the tour company. We quite liked it. This hotel has a very unique layout. Some of the rooms were in the main building; some were entered from the outside of the building. Some were in other buildings altogether. My students' room was in a separate...

Staff was friendly and helpfull! Centrally located in monte verde :) Rooms were a bit dated and Free WiFi means free only at the reception!! Happy hour was only for 3 cocktails on the list! And they will offer pizzas from down the road which were good... Don't order anything else than pizzas!!

We showed up before the check-in time, and we were immediately diverted to another inn a mile away. She owner was so sweet, and assured us the other place had a much better view, and that she would pick us up for breakfast, etc, but the other inn was quite spartan, without a central area to spend time in. Once...

The entire hotel is very unique. It does not have a traditional layout and no two rooms are the same. The hotel is family operated and they mad you feel like you were part of the family. The bar and communal areas were accommodating and charming. It was a very pleasurable experience. I was traveling with 17 13-14 year olds...

I loved this hotel. It's a family run place, and no two rooms are alike. I found it charming. Watching the sunset from the patio was great. The beds were comfy and everything was clean. My teenager's favourite part was the "American style breakfast" on offer -- by this part of the trip, he was tired of beans and rice...

The hotel workers where very kind, but in the room there was not remote control for the tv which is very old for a hotel that started in 2004, no air conditioner, they didn't change the toilet paper. The prices in the bar are high and they do not accept credit or debit cards, the region itself is expensive but...

A cute little place on the hill above town with breakfast. I had a room right off the lobby and every night had to tell the staff to quiet down so I could sleep. Otherwise good for inexpensive accommodations. Fun little patio to enjoy a happy hour drink.

The hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating but the hotel is not one we would stay at again. We stayed as part of G adventures tour (group of 8 with CEO) so I cannot speak about cost or value. The hotel is a trek into town, so if you are into walking it's perfect. We stayed in their 4 unit...
