We were an extended family party of 8 and spent 2 wonderful nights and 3 days at El Viandante. The rooms were clean, roomy with beautiful woodwork. The breakfasts were a perfect mix of local fresh fruit and traditional B&B staples served a great room with panoramic views . Most of all, the owners and staff were overly courteous and...

Grace and her husband are the perfect hosts! They were helpful and friendly and gave us great advice on what to see and do. The room had a great view of the clouds passing over the ridge which is cool because you are in a cloud forest. The room also had a real good price. Breakfast had awesome juices, great...

Grace was an excellent host, helpful in all ways. The room was huge, with high ceilings, big windows, ceiling fan. Bathroom was roomy and clean, and the water hot. The included breakfast was excellent and healthy. Located in between Santa Elena and Monteverde, so we walked all the time, and it was on top of a hill, so got no...

The single room was an amazing deal for me as a solo traveler - it's small for sure, but clean and pleasant. Throughout my 5-day stay, Grace was an AWESOME host. She helped me plan my tour schedule, made all related bookings for me, and even started breakfast early on a day when I had to leave earlier. The hill...

My husband and I loved our two nights at El Viandante. It was our first time in Monteverde, and both Grace and one of her employees, Jamal, were full of great information about which restaurants were not-to-miss, what activities were available around town, and all the necessary bits like access to banks and taxis, etc. Thanks to them we found...

A former colleague who worked at the close by school, CEC, first turned me on to Hotel Viandante back in 2008. I've been going back ever since. It's a great value, but way more than that, Renzo and Grace are fabulous people as well as hosts. Over the years I have brought dozens of students to this wonderful spot, and...

Grace and Renzo were terrific and also had helpful restaurant suggestions for dinner. All our activities were already booked but they clearly could be of great assistance there as well. It appears they speak about a dozen languages between them! The room we stayed in (with our 2 daughters) was simple, clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet...

This was the 2nd to the last leg in our trip to Costa Rica, and this was our favorite accommodation. The owners, Grace and Renzo were so nice and welcoming. Grace is a very warm person, and gave great advice during our stay. Our room was spacious and clean, and the shower was roomy. Each morning Grace and Renzo made...

It is set to be a hostel, but our experience was much more... Extremely nice couple owning it, this hostel is not really a hostel - more like a hotel... It was the cheapest and the best we tried on the entire trip to Costa Rica! The road up there is quite steep, but the 15 min walk into town...

We had a nice stay here. Grace and Renzo were wonderful hosts, giving us advice for excursions and booking them for us. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The breakfast in the morning were delicious and filling. The location was great! In walking distance to the main stretch in Monteverde as well as the "downtown" of Santa Elena.
