Basic clean hotel in Monteverde, stayed one night and visited the cute town nearby. Hotel has few amenities but breakfast was good. Room was clean and bed and bath were fine. The area had lots of outdoor activities. Overall was nice but a not luxury spot.

We stayed here the night before our 3 day hike in the cloud forest. The hotel is in the style of a Swiss chalet, which makes it quite dark. Our room was large with a good shower, we had a corner room (205) so we had a few windows which helped as the wood did make it feel very dark....

We stayed at the Heliconia hotel in Monteverde which was basic but clean and the views were amazing. From this hotel we had our coffee plantation tour and chocolate tour (yum). We also saw a sloth in the trees plus found out a lot about coffee and its caffeine content. We visited two very nice restaurants both evenings one Italian...

This was probably my favorite hotel while in Costa Rica. The location is pretty good and close to a few restaurants. Our room was huge and very spacious. The food that the hotel had was also decent. The only downsides were the fan in our room was broke and its a long hike from reception to the rooms, however there...

Like many other reviewers have mentioned, the walk from the reception area to the rooms is a hike! We definitely got some exercise in. The bar was under construction and the restaurant seemed limited. Also, the AC felt nonexistent in our room. However, the staff were all very friendly. The hotel is located within walking distance of many attractions. Overall,...

We were here for two nights on a tour. Our room was high up on the hillside, and was enormous and clean with comfortable beds. The view from the verandah outside was amazing going right across to the pacific coast. Sadly things went downhill (literally) from then on.To get down to reception and the public areas was a bit of...

We stayed here for 2 nights on the second leg of our Thomson cloudforest tour. The room was quite basic but huge. It was constructed of wood and reminded me of a 70s alpine lodge. We stayed at the top of the hotel grounds and the views looking out over the rainforest were impressive. The hotel was situated close to...

Stayed at this place for 3 nights, glad it wasn’t for more! Checked in at allotted time but room was not ready, had a very basic lunch in the hotel restaurant – not impressed. While hanging around waiting for the room, thought I would ask the girl on reception a few questions but she was more interested in chatting on...

We stayed in one of the large cabin style room higher up the hill. Very large room, excellent shower, huge bath and extra beds on a mezzanine floor. Good views too and wildlife to see outside your door. We were a small group who occupied several of these rooms. It was nice to meet up and watch the sunset with...
