We visited the Belmar in early March 2017. We stayed in a Belmar room in the Chalet section. We were pleased with our stay and would say that in our three week adventure in Costa Rica it had the best food, beer (esp the stout) and coffee we came across. Excellent bird watching around the hotel, and very good service...

This Swiss chalet style hotel has a first class location at the side of a mountain looking out towards the sea. Rooms are in wood and spacious with balcony. We found the food overly fussy e.g an omelette comes with all sorts inside it rather than plain but it was changed to what was preferred without any problem. Staff very...

Went here for a weeks stay for my honeymoon. The service is incredibly friendly and organized. They even did our entire itinerary from morning to night. We stayed in two different rooms and both were incredible cozy, romantic and spacious. The food also was very tasty, fresh and healthy and presented to you very nicely. I even loved their shampoo...

The staff was attentive, helpful and thoughtful. Room was beautiful and clean. Meals and service were fantastic. No, there was no elevator. If you need help getting your bags to the room the staff is more than happy to assist. We would definitely return.

We spent three days here and thoroughly enjoyed our time--wonderful service, friendly staff, free yoga, very fresh food, great craft beer brewed onsite and free coffee roasted from beans grown on the hotel's farm. We took one of the largest rooms, the Sunset Room, and it was spacious and had a fabulous view. Toiletries were great. The cons: The Sunset...

The room was dated (two chairs from the seventies), bare (no rugs), all wood (like a nun's room) and freezing - there is no heat in the rooms. It was 50 degrees outside and the wind was howling. Normally cold temps would not bother us if we had heat and the curtains was not flapping from the wind blowing through...

What a beautiful, forward-thinking stop on my vacation. These folks have an extensive organic garden and passionate people who will surely see it works to meet 100% of their needs. The beer brewing was just beginning but the beer was tastey. Future plans were heard of a tasting room or beergarten -- perfect setting on a lovely hillside in view...

We stopped off for happy hour (4.30-5.30) and to watch the sunset. We ended up having the triple beer sampler with tapas US$15. Staff were very helpful, friendly and informative. We felt welcome even though we were not staying at the hotel.

Hotel Belmar It exceeded our expectation in 1) "Coziness"- and Beauty 2) Comfort 3) food 4) personalized services and access to great tours 5) Price I 1) Just sitting at the balcony of the restaurant is already worth the trip to Monteverde: TRULY SUBLIME view which accompanies the ambiance of the entire grounds of the Belmar 2) The Rooms were...

We LOVED this hotel and will return. The rooms are large and well appointed. High end mattresses and linens. Robes, slippers and nice toiletries. The shower can be private or open up to the room and fantastic views outside. Lovely balcony for enjoying a free (amazing) Costa Rica coffee or sunset wine. We also enjoyed the lovely hottub and grounds...
