This place is great. We were first scheduled to be somewhere else and it didn't meet our standards, we went here and they worked with our travel agent and got us a premium room looking out over the ocean, the sunsets were awesome. The staff was awesome and you won't be disappointed if you stay here.. Breakfast was good too.....

The Ficus seems to have been recently renovated and the rooms are beautiful. The hotel comprises a series of separate buildings, each with four units, built into the hillside above the reception area. We spent three nights in a unit at the top of the complex. The room was huge, with vaulted ceilings, a large bathroom, and an under-utilized bar...

We stayed here for two nights. We were allocated one of the units on the upper level and it was lovely but it is a steep hill to drag the luggage up from reception. One bag was taken for us by the gentleman who showed us to our room, and I'm sure the others would also have been taken for...

Rooms are huge, and there are only 20 rooms, so it's quiet. Breakfast is a buffet with the main dishes changing every day, featuring both Costa Rican and American foods. We stayed 3 nights. Great views from the rooms of the ocean and rainbows. The rooms are up a hill, so be prepared. The only things I would change would...

Loved this hotel. Helpful staff, gorgeous room, best breakfast of anywhere we stayed, and good location. Our room was huge, tiled, large dressing area and spacious stone and tile bathroom with a large shower. Monteverde Reserve is about 4 miles away by taxi. Highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful sunset view down to Santa Elena.

I wanted to love this hotel. There are some definite pros here: location is good for Sta Elana visits, poking around (if you are okay with a STEEP hill walk) and for Cloud forest exploring, Selvatura or other zip-lining, etc. Rooms are clean and large and there are nice windows. Not sure if whole hotel is non-smoking but our rooms...

Our room was very clean and the staff was friendly. We saw beautiful birds on the grounds. It was just a short walk down the hill to great shops and eating. Please note that it is on a steep hill and curve, you will likely hear motorcycles on the road and beeping their horns as the round the curve. The...

Spacious, clean room with magnificent vista through ceiling to floor glass. Good location as it is less than 5 min walk to the centre of Sta Elena. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Breakfast (included) not great quality but edible, standard choice: rice, pancakes, eggs, sausages. coffee a bit weak for me. Overall I would recommend it if you are not...
