Stayed for 3 nights at the H.I. Bondi Junction while on a recent trip to Sydney and found the hotel to be pretty decent, nothing exciting just a standard Holiday Inn with a clean room, a comfortable bed, good sized bathroom and the location was super.
Arriving from the airport, it was walkable from Bondi Junction metro stop in around 5 minutes with luggage. The location is great, Westfield Bondi Junction is minutes away, buses to the beach are also within the Bondi Junction metro station so you are very well placed to get around or you can get the metro back into the CBD.
The room was a good size, perhaps a little plain and lacking in decoration but it was clean and well maintained. There was a fridge and kitchenette area should you wish to cook or make some tea/coffee. The room overlooked Spring Street but the noise was negligible, I slept quite well. The bathroom was adequate, the towels could have been softer but the shower worked a treat and was easy to use, plenty of gel and shampoo in the dispensers fixed to the wall.
Breakfast was not included but there is a small restaurant attached to reception which did decent scrambled eggs and toast for AUD 9.50 and their coffee was good too. There are lots of other places nearby in which you can breakfast.
The wardrobe space was roomy and there was plenty of hangers on the rail. Wifi worked very well and was free to use. The laundry cart was omnipresent but if there is limited storage space where else should it go and quite frankly it was not an issue for me.
Staff were helpful and friendly and happy to help with any questions you might have. The hotel was a great base to explore Bondi , Bronte and Coogee as the buses were very frequent - not so much at night though. Bus 350 was good to get back to the domestic terminal for onward connections in Australia rather than using the expensive airport train.

This was not the most amazing stay but also not the worst. We came for a festival and were able to drop our bags because we arrived before 2pm which was check in. This was a plus, and the location to centennial park was great. When we arrived back, having not checked in, the doors were closed from 8pm with a doorbell to request entrance and a phone number to call. We did it a few times and no one answered for about 15mins until we were let in. Whilst waiting there was also another person who said they had not been able to enter either. Check in was easy, but once we entered our room there was a very strong cigarette smell. We tried opening the windows and turning the aircon on but nothing was working. My partner went downstairs to request a room change but all rooms were full. A member of staff did come and spray the carpet which helped for about 20mins but the cigarette smell came back. When checking out we stated again that the smell was bad and were offered no compensation for the evening. Other than entering and our room smell, all other aspects of our experience were very pleasant.

Perfect property if requiring quick, efficient public transport options into the city especially on Australia Day with City road closures during such an event. Appreciated the room upgrade from Tram who was professional and friendly. Room was clean, well equipped with a comfortable King bed. The secure parking on site made this overnight stay to enjoy events in the City and Circular Quay a no-brainer. Price point is fair, reasonable for Bondi Junction. Well done Holiday Inn

This hotel is over priced for what is offered! It’s what you expect from a motel at half the price. Asked for 2 extra pillows for the two beds and was informed they would need authorization from management. We then received one pillow and informed they did not have any more pillows. First morning the toilet broke. Called reception and was told maintenance would not be in for another hour. After stating this was unacceptable we were given a key to use another room until toilet was fixed. Thankfully Maintenance fixed the toilet before the hour. We also left a note for cleaning staff informing them we were out of toilet paper, hand soap and required additional towels. None of our requests were fulfilled when we returned to our room late afternoon. We were informed by reception that the cleaning staff cannot read English. Our requests were then promptly acted on by the desk reception. Also I attempted to make a local call from the room but phone would not allow me. I was informed by reception I had to go to the receptionist desk to have them phone the number for me.🤷♀️. And finally the TV had no channels worth watching. No movie Chanel to even purchase movies. Will not stay here again.

We had a lovely stay - the hotel has great facilities (free washing machine with powder a particular boon!), coffee shop downstairs, and the staff were helpful and cheery. We felt it was a reasonable price in a great location for catching public transport into the CBD and getting to the beach. The gift left for us to celebrate New Year's Eve with was a classy touch!

This report should be read in 2 halves. Our arrival was terrible. One of our worst experiences anywhere in the world simply trying to gain access and checked into a hotel. The front and rear doors are locked at 8pm each evening. If you have already checked in your card affords you access. However if you are arriving for check in, you either have to ring the intercom or phone a number. We tried both - neither worked! The intercom literally didn’t operate at all and the number we dialled went unanswered on 3 occasions. Finally on the 4th occasion someone called Steven answered. He gave the usual long winded introduction to corporate phone calls and didn’t seem to grasp the fact we had been trying to access the hotel for over 10 minutes. I cut his speech short and instructed him to come and let us in immediately. We saw him approach the door some distance off - sauntering along without any sense of duty to his employer or us as paying customers. His general attitude was terrible - he didn’t offer to help my wife with her bag and literally wandered back to reception and carried on dealing with another customer. That’s fine - happy to wait my turn but when he engaged him in conversation about his plans for his holiday methods of transport etc I could see Steven intended punishing us for being curt with him on the phone and at the door. He eventually allocated us a room which clearly was the ‘punishment’ room. Filthy dirty, window catch broken so all the street noise filtered in. Following morning we met the general manager Simon who apologised immediately moved us rooms and wrote us a nice apology note. The rest of our stay was fine and uneventful a typical Holiday Inn perhaps a little on the dated side. We saw on the evening of our arrival whilst Steven was spending time engaged with the other customer- a bicycle with associated clothing and footwear propped up behind the reception desk also a Pink blanket. Quite clearly his bike - looked like something one might expect in a one star hotel not a Holiday Inn. Perhaps Steven is not suited to customer service rolls.

What a fantastic find. Last weekend we held our daughter’s 21st birthday party nearby. To save driving back to Wahroonga we chose to stay here.
The rooms we clean and modern. Each room had a very modern kitchenette, 2 burner stove, microwave, tiny dishwasher and decent fridge. It was quiet and temperature control excellent. The bed was a little uncomfortable.
The staff are lovely. If you need a toaster in your room, just ask.

I chose to book this hotel for work due to its location near where I needed to be. I drove to the hotel and it was easy to navigate to and the parking entry was easy to find with plenty of parking available. The hotel is well located near plenty of shops and places to eat. The room was well equipped with a comfortable bed, kitchenette, desk and dining setting. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful. Jeremy was able to assist connecting me to the wifi when my device wouldn’t connect. He also changed my room for me when it was found that the air conditioning wasn’t working and maintenance couldn’t fix the issue. Nothing was a problem. His manner was always professional and polite.

We stayed 5 nights at the Bondi Junction Holiday Inn September 2024. Our room faced Oxford Street, currently across the road there is a building site, the whole block from Newland Street is being demolished so jack hammers start at 8am and stop at 5pm Monday to Saturday inclusive. It will be a building site for quite some time. Bring earplugs !! As someone else stated the large purple linen cart was a fixture outside the lifts when we were there also.

Great location. Close to all public transport. Was informed that I had parking and this was paid for, upon arrival this was not the case. The male worker at the desk was REALLY rude and actually rolled his eyes when it was confirmed that we did need the shower chair. Upon getting to the room the shower chair was placed in the middle of the walkway which prevented me from having access further than the hall way. The shower chair did not fit in the shower and this same worker implied we were not telling the truth, he tried many ways and alas we were right, he did find a shower stool that fitted.
The female worker on the desk for the rest of our stay was lovely.
Despite that one person; the beds were comfy and the cafe downstairs was great

As suggested by another person, the best way to find out is ring the Quest Bondi Junction. There was sufficient room for another roll away in ours, but will depending on which room is available as there are two different layouts of rooms...The owners of this Quest are very helpful.
There are more places to choose from in the Bondi area.
