The location of this hostel is good, close to Sydney street at transport links. Takes 10-15mins on the train to the CBD. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food served downstairs is nice, good sized portions. We had a private room, decent size with fridge in room also. Bed comfy, fan if needed. Whilst the showers had hot and cold... More

I had a great lunch here. The $14 lunchtime special included a $7.50 glass of wine. I had a steak sandwich and was very pleased with it. I tried two red wines by the glass and both were very good. The decor is very 70s, but the prices were from the 70s, too. I noted there was also a 5-7pm... More

Absolutely loved the 24 days we spent here, we'd do it all over again and will definitely return if we come back to Melbourne. We stayed in a 6 bed mixed dorm, a 4 bed girls, and a private room so had a good sample and all the rooms were spacious with your own locker and clean bedding once a... More

$13 burger Tuesday's was a disappointment. The burger had no taste at all. Very bland beef patty. But the huge pickle garnished on top was delicious! Perhaps more relish and picked in the burger would add flavor. Nice cosy place though. Great for a quiet drink or with a group of friends.

Great location near trains, trams and Sydney Road. Nice building from 1925 that hasn't been messed with in the name of progress. Service was good and the food was hearty traditional pub food. Well prepared and not expensive. Good selection of beers leaning more towards standard stuff rather than craft beers. The bar hosts live bands and has a bottle... More

Located in a busy part of Brunswick, Vic this hostel has a nice vibe if you're looking for something inexpensive compared to a regular chain hotel. The building is quite old which reflects everywhere: the kitchen, foyer, bedrooms, lounges, bathrooms, and showers. Heaps of car & truck traffic passes through both directions on Victoria Street from early morning hours to... More

Went here for the Wed night Trivia. Fairly new to Melbourne so haven't got a lot of comparisons but it seemed good. Had a pretty hipster feel to the place with a large open bar area with some chairs around the place and a table tennis table. Got served quickly and had a great pint of Collinwood draught....not cheap at... More

If you don't know where to stay in Melbourne yet and are not a friend of characterless, cold mass accommodation, this place is what you are looking for!! Located in one of the most interesting and diverse (my opinion) suburbs of the city, this hotel/hostel got everything your heart desires ;-). I first came here to visit a friend for... More
