Generic, bland apartment accommodation ... But it should not take more than a week after check-out - and counting - for this hotel to release guest security deposits then compound this by providing no satisfactory reason why or even *when* that will finally occur, upon following up. Holding funds that do not belong to you beyond a reasonable period is wrong, least of all making it incumbent upon guests to *have* to follow such issues up in the first place. Pretty ordinary administration.
The Artel Apartments are well located for our purposes. Great rooms with first class inclusions. Comfortable beds, quiet aircon. Helpful staff. Very good and stable WiFi Secure easy parking. Clean and COVID responsible. We have stayed before and will stay again.
Highly recommend this place when explore the heart of Brunswick. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to shops, bakeries and cafes on the Sydney road this hotel is location perfect and self driving friendly with a spacious car park.
We stayed in a 2bedroom apartment for 5 nights, was very clean and beautifully furnished, bed and linen were great, nice and quiet of a night, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher.Nice spacious balcony. Position in Brunswick was great for us, just a walk to the corner then tram into the city, about 20mins. Woolworths and BWS walking distance, delicious pakistani restaurant across the road, we would definitely stay here again. Staff always friendly.
I was in Brunswick with my dad and two kids to see family. This was perfect location for us. Close to many lovely cafes and restaurants as well as tram line and train station. Close to small park for kids to play. Very new, clean and comfortable. Air conditioned. Full kitchen and laundry facilities.
We wanted to stay somewhere local in Brunswick, so booked into the Artel. There were communication problems from the start. I booked directly on the hotel website, but forgot to ask for a parking space. They emailed me later that day, to say that no apartments were available for me to stay in (nothing about a parking space). Then I had a phone call from a strongly accented person with poor English comprehension skills to say that I should ignore the email. She then assumed that I wanted to cancel my booking, and it was difficult to make her understand that I wanted both the booking and the parking space. Once we arrived & checked in, all was ok. The bed & linen was high quality. The apartment was quiet (we were at the back of the building, the ones facing onto Sydney road may have traffic noise). The kitchen was obviously laid out by someone who would never use it, or didn't think. The water glasses were on a shelf approx. 2.5m off the ground. My very tall husband managed to get me one down, but normal height people would need a ladder. The bathroom looked nice, but the hand held shower was jammed in place & water pressure was too low to get a good shower from the overhead shower. It was a good place to crash for one night, and could be made good quite easily, but needs more attention to detail.…
What a pleasant surprise to enter a clean modern room with a balcony. I was only expecting a single room but found 2 bedrooms which were separate from the living area. The apartment also had full cooking facilities and a dishwasher all in good working order. Right in the heart of Brunswick with close access to the city and public transport I felt the price was very reasonable for a very enjoyable stay. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower but otherwise highly recommended.
Great apartment Allowed to check in early at no xtra cost Comfortable beds Good linen Washing machine worked well and balcony so could let air in Situated well near shops and restaurants and supermarket (Woolworth Metro) to the right on exit A bit of train noise
Stayed for a few nights in this property but it was a bit like living in an Ikea display with its modern and very new appointments - but comfortable enough dining/lounge (light and airy with big window and white fittings) with a good big TV; one bedroom (the other locked off) - plenty of hanging space and view out window (over surrounding roofs) although pillows were very large. The kitchen, not real large, was very well equipped with a few supplies (milk, coffee) and good range of utensils; bathroom also smallish but well laid out shower recess (good supply of hot water) etc. There is a landing for a touch of outside atmosphere accessible from the lounge through a big sliding glass door. There is no catering on the premises but a wide variety of Asian and especially Middle Eastern cuisine up and down the street. The foyer was bare with only a reception desk and a bench with some tourist brocures; the staff were efficient but not effusive. There was an odd smell in the foyer, lift and some corridors. There was parking in the basement (not used). Trams to city are outside the door, and train not far away. Overall the decor and very modern furniture and fittings were very acceptable but it did feel a bit like a display apartment.…
Down for a wedding in Brunswick and booked two rooms- one bed and a two bed. Now from the surrounds the graffiti tags, closed down shops and op shops may give the impression that it is a dodgy area. This is far from the truth as new developments modern coffee shops blend in with the ethnic melting pot of bakeries, restaurants and Shisha lounges that line Sydney street. The hotel is well placed to access all of these and still only a tram ride or cheap didi ride to the heart of Melbourne . Rooms well appointed with modern kitchenette bathroom and lounge area. Bedrooms are nice with firm beds but I personally enjoyed these. The units are quiet. Staff are super friendly and we were able to store luggage on leaving while we went to city. You cannot go wrong with this out of town gem . …
