Richard the manager is extremely rude and brusque on the phone . Our first experience with Richard was when he said that we couldn't stay using a Wowcher deal as there were no available dates. (2 nights for £99 including a 3 course meal for two and a bottle of wine on one of those nights). He said we could...

Like many others I was worried about how the whole experience would go, especially after having a few encounters over the phone with a grouchy owner to the point where I told Wowcher (who I bought my 2 night stay with) how bad the experience had been. ASIDE from all the madness of booking and being 'forced' to book and...

We were expecting the worst experience after reading some reviews but thought it is one night lets go anway and I am so glad we did. Greeted by a lovely man (obviously not the infamous owner) and sat by the roaring fire with a drink for over an hour before even going to our room, beautiful flag stone and wooden...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! It was the first hotel weekend away with my boyfriend and it was made very special! The hotel itself was beautiful and the food we had was lovely! Couldn't fault it at all and would highly recommend it!

We made use of a Living Social deal for £69 which included a 3 course meal with a glass of mulled wine and bed and breakfast. We have stayed here before and it always makes a nice break. We took our dog with us and paid the £15 for this when we checked in. This time instead of the stable...

Just spent the weekend there. Michelle and her staff were fantastic, food was excellent and the rooms were basic but very clean and comfortable. Bar area was small but warm and comfortable. Prices very reasonable.

We were given a night with meal and breakfast as a Christmas present and I checked the reviews and they were very mixed, but I decided to go with positive thoughts and an open mind. We arrived in the only direction that you could not see the sign but thought we were in the right place as there was little...

We found the staff friendly and helpful, in particular the young lady who booked us in. Our room was in the stable block, which was both comfortable and quiet. Dinner and breakfast were taken in the main building. All cooked to order and with fresh ingredients. The only reason I didn't give The Blazing Donkey a 5 rating was the...
