After a string of very modest outback hotels, we were bowled over to come to this modern, comfortable, very attractive motel in tiny Windorah. It was like an oasis in the desert, staffed by friendly people. What a treat after days of driving on rough roads and fending off flies.

Based ourselves here for 2 nights whilst exploring the area. Camp ground was a big lawned area with shared facilities whilst the motel rooms were adjacent with their own facilities.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the evening meals including the bar-b-q on one night were plentiful and the local people were friendly as well
Probably the only complaint I would have is that the rooms are slightly overpriced at $155 . I realize that this is outback but wonder if they would do better if the rooms were say $130-$135 a night. but overall a good place to stopover

The team here are absolutely beautiful people. I felt for the owner, who had to ring up all bookings and confirm vaccination status of incoming guests. We arrived at 7pm after a long hot day of driving, and found the town had no phone signal and the Hotel internet was down (not the Hotel's fault). They were very understanding and organised an account for us so we could purchase food and drink. They kept the kitchen open enough to cook us meals (It was Parmi night and the Aussie is yummy with fried egg on top!), and the beer was cold.

Our room was a budget one but because it was low season we were alone in the whole block. The in room air conditioning was cold, which is the only thing that matters in the heat. Beds were clean and tidy.

Warm, old fashioned country hospitality - come by and support these guys especially if you are travelling in low season (end of year).

One of the finest, cleanest and tidiest places we have stayed. We group of 6 friends really enjoyed our road trip especially when we met this couple and enjoyed the accomodation service they have provided us. I would recommend to must stay at the this place to enjoy this small quiet beautiful town. Roads are perfectly fine if u are coming from MT ISSA towards charliville.
100% recommended.

This is a great place to spend a couple of nights to see Coopers Creek and the sandhills and experience an outback country town. It was my third or fourth stay here and it's always reliably pleasant. We enjoyed meeting the young, competent and cheerful Argentinian backpackers working there. The motel units are very comfortable. I'd recommend the rissoles - home style cooking at its best.

One general note of caution though - unleaded fuel wasn't available at the petrol station in Windorah when we were there.

What a fantastic pub!! Probably one of the best in Australia!! We were lucky enough to stay in a motel room on our way to Birdsville- the room was impressive- clean, welcoming and roomy. We enjoyed an evening at the pub where the locals were so welcoming and made us feel so welcome! Probably the best bacon and egg rolls and coffee we have had in our trip so far!! Thank you and we just can’t wait to return!

Great meals, fast, friendly. You don’t really have a lot of choice in Windorah for a night time feed, but we found this pub to be a great feed. Especially the kids meals- I was very impressed, just a small version of the adult meal (not just deep fried crap!). Thanks for considering our kids too.

The cabins out the back of the pub are clean, new and delightful. Small kitchenette is highly functional, bathroom is great and the shower is great, no curtain. Very comfortable bed with heaps of pillows. Dinner in the pub was huge, tasty and the service from all staff was efficient, polite, professional but most of all really friendly. Great place to stay.

Best pub dinner in a long time. Generous size and tasted great - chicken Parma, chips and salad. Same generous size was the chicken schnitzel, chips and veg.
Service was fast and friendly.
If sitting outside bring coat, it got chilly. (There was a fire pit going)
Mozzies were out so stock up on mozzie spray.

We stayed here 1 night. Excellent Cabin situated out behind The Western Star Motel. Pet, friendly, new, very clean and tidy. For tea we enjoyed a lovely meal from the Motel, Chicken Schnitzel with chips and a great mix of salads.
Highly recommend 👌

i paid $ 145.00 in May 2015 for 2 people. I booked via phone as it was the easier way to do it that way. You MAY have a delay in getting a response via the net - seems it's not always available out there!!!!
