Both Janet and Gary were fantastic hosts, very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The Red room was stunning and immaculate, with everything we could possibly want. Based on Janet’s advice, we decided to order take-away and stay in, rather then travel into Newcastle - so glad we did. The spa bath was CG’s favourite feature – she spent ages...

The stables lodge is most definitely the best b&b we have ever been to. We visited for two nights in February 2012 for our anniversary & stayed in the Garden room. The garden room is a really beautiful and romantic room to stay in & well worth the price! You get private use of the hot tub which in February,...

Stayed overnight at The Stables in the Tartan Room before collecting our son from Northumbria Uni the next day. Never have we been greeted by such a warm welcome. Janet was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We were delighted by the array of teas, coffees, (including cafetiere) and hot chocolate in the room along with biscuits and toffees....

We were welcomed by the owners like old friends although we had never met Janet or Gary before. We stayed in the Garden Room which is beautifully designed and very comfortable, with a hot tub a short skip across the garden. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very much at home. We would recommend The...

We chose this hotel for our anniversary night away and it couldn't have been more romantic. There was a gale blowing outside and we watched the trees swaying from the comfort of the luxurious, cosy garden room only braving the elements for a short trip across the garden to the private hot tub. Both the room and the hot tub...

I have just spent four nights in this wonderful Lodge. I was in the Tartan Room which was so comfortable I did not want to leave but I did for the best breakfast in the North East. ! Many thanks to Gary, Janet, Domino and all the staff who made my stay so welcoming. I will certainly return.
