My wife and I stayed recently at this hotel.
We’ve never been to the island, and weren’t really sure what to expect, boy were we in for a pleasant surprise! From the moment we entered, the staff were professional, and gracious. Our room was in the new addition, and was very tastefully done. The restaurant served tradition German, and Bavarian dishes. The chef/owner takes great pride in the food and service, and it shows. Being in the hospitality business, I know when things are done with care and love, which you see in all the touches. Dishes are prepared perfectly, and waitresses wear traditional Bavarian “dirndl”, adding to the wooden rooms charm, as does the German beer. Check out was quick and easy, and the owners ever helped organize a lift to the train station. The island itself is a hidden gem, which has so many things to do, I can’t list them all. Pristine beaches, flowing fields of wheat, beautiful towns with buildings from the 1600’s, along cobblestone streets. Fehmarn has it all, and we will def be back! We will also be coming back to this hotel, as it’s the perfect mix of very lovely, affordable rooms, and with the best food on the island being the hotel restaurant (also, extremily reasonably priced) you’d be silly to stay anywhere else!

I don't think this hotel even deserve a star. The lady (I presume is the owner) is so unfriendly. Even when we were standing there needing some help, she avoided eye contact. She could at least let us know that she would get back to us as soon as she finishes whatever she was doing.

On the day, we were checking out, no one was there. She returned with the chef after we waited for like 10 mins and just walked past us without saying anyting. Did her stuff and taking her own time to hang up her winter jacket. Then she came to us and said Yes? For god sake!! We were standing there with our luggages!! What did she expect?

As for breakfast, the salmon tasted bitter and not much of selection. We paid 125 euro for such a low grade hotel + horrible service. It is simply not worth it. We will deinitely not be back there anymore.

Take note : you can't check in between 1400 to 1700 as the place is closed. We regretted so much booking this place.

This was a true surprise, fantastic food and great rooms at affordable prices.
Will definitely stay here again, this restaurant is also very popular by locals and I can sure understand why.
A bit hard to get there due to road construction work.

We stopped here on our way north, the town itself is so cute and it seems every week-end during tourist season there is something going on. We were here when there was a wine-festival. The hotel was perfectly located, central, plenty parking, had restaurant and breakfast buffet. The rooms were modern and very comfortable, I'd definitely go here again! The only complaint would be the constant traffic but I don't think you can avoid it anywhere in this town, it seemed that there was an endless stream of cars going through the centre ALL day (starting early in the morning), no fault of the hotel though which was very nice and the landlady very helpful.

arrived at the hotel went to book in and found not a very warm welcome at all, We were totally blanked by the Landlady and the service provided by the barmaid/waitress in the long green dress can only be described as icy. However the young fair haired waitress was amazingly helpful and cheerful. The food was very good and the rooms were fine but please, if you want international trade room information and menus subtitled in English would be good as we all do not read and speak German. We had a distinct feeling of not being welcome as we were British.
