My son and I had a great week at Bananarama last week, and we definitely plan on going back sometime! Our cabana was right on the beach--very comfortable and unique. Our main focus was scuba diving which was a wonderful experience. We mostly at the...More
The great thing about this hotel is that there is an excellent dive centre attatched to it. I can't recommend the dive centre enough.
The rooms at the hotel are comfy and clean but dated. The location of the hotel is good because it is...More
We are not divers but the stay was very good. All staff are excellent. I have never seen a more well run business...front desk... maintenance.. dive center... housekeeping.... groundkeepers..security. No complaints on anything. The rooms are a little dated..no tv... but we had a great...More
Went to Tabayana Beach to do a little snorkeling, but the weather didn't cooperate, so walked down the beach to the bar. It's a cute little bar with an awesome bartender who danced when a good song came on. Get some nachos! They are so...More
Just got back from my 4th diving trip in Roatan. The folks from Bananarama hit it out of the park again. Super competent, knowledgeable and friendly staff who know the best sites regardless of weather, wind and current. Marco, Lanita and Zoey are passionate about...More

Banarama has bathrooms near the beach as well as enclosed change rooms to use. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off after being on the beach. It is FREE to use the beach chairs as long as you have purchased food or drink from them. If you don't purchase food or drink, then it is a $10 rental fee. Drinks range from $2.50 to $5 depending on what you get. Food ranges ~ $8-15, lots of variety, good. There are beach vendors that sell empanadas ($10 for 4 empanadas, look for the men with the red coolers) and local food place Arlyn's immediately outside resort (typico lunch $4-5 which includes a meat (chicken, beef, pork, fish, shrimp), beans/rice and a salad. They resort has live music in the bar from around noon to 3:00.
The cost to get there depends on which cruise port you are at - Coxen Hole is the closer port and Mahoganey Bay is further away. Taxi from Coxen Hole is ~ $60 round-trip. However, if you have at least 4 people going, you can book a shuttle for the entire day for $100 - they will take you anywhere you want, including time at the beach. If you get time, go to Daniel Johnsons Monkey & Sloth sanctuary! You could also contact the hotel directly to ask what price they would get for a shuttle for you.

Sorry! Didn’t get notified of another question. Personally 24 wouldn’t work for us. Too close to the bar and a little tiki bar area where people hang out. 26 is right behind 25 and is more private. Not direct view on the beach but honestly 25 steps away. Either would be fine but I personally would choose 26 over 24.
