My husband treated me to a surprise birthday getaway at Tulbach Boutique Hotel and what an amazing experience! This little gem, hidden in the main road of Tulbach, is worth every one of the 4 stars it displays. From the super friendly and efficient staff, beautiful and very comfortable rooms (with robes, complimentary toiletries and very well stocked honesty bar)...

Our stay at the Tulbagh hotel was very pleasant. The suite we booked was large, clean and very comfortable. The food at the restaurant is also great - the service at the restaurant could just be a bit more organized. Otherwise the staff are very friendly. We stayed in the section across the road from the main hotel which was...

Dear Candiceh many thanks for your review. Church Street is the original main street of the town dating back to the mid 18th century, and is home to the oldest church in SA. It also boasts the greatest number of heritage properties in one street, in the country. Alasdair

The biggest bedroom and bathrooms I have ever experienced. Very good service in very quaint and beautiful locale. The surroundings such as Ceres and nearby activities made the trip even more worthwhile.

Many thanks for your kind review. As you mention, in addition to the attractions of Tulbagh there is more in neighbouring Ceres. A very picturesque golf course, with an operating steam train, and an exhilarating zip line adventure. Hope to see you back in Tulbagh soon Alasdair

Even though we only spent one night at The Tulbagh, we can really recommend this establishment: from our time of making a booking, we were met with friendly, efficient service. The main hotel building dates from 1859 & offers a range of contemporary-styled luxurious rooms. The Winterhoek Manor(1813) and the Toll House(1809), opposite the hotel, are two of the heritage properties in Church Street, offering charming period rooms. Crafted from the old wagon shed, this suite oozes romantic charm. Open thatch, two fireplaces, bath and shower for two. There are three pool areas, free Wi-Fi throughout and an in-house beauty therapist. All areas have air conditioning and there are cosy wood-burning fires for winter evenings.
