We stayed at Links Lady Bay for my partner's 30th birthday. We were greeted by a very friendly, welcoming & helpful receptionist who was more than happy to help. I forget her name but she was in her first week on the desk and she is a fantastic first impression for your hotel.
When we got to our room we were surprised at how clean & tidy it looked, and thought the layout was great. But opening the door for the first time we immediately noticed a strange smell in the room, we're sure it was the carpets as they were visibly dirty, and it was throughout the whole room - not just one part. The shower/screen had alot of mould and scum build up in the corners etc & the grout in places was turning black. We were pretty disappointed with the cleanliness of the shower itself, however the rest of the bathroom was perfect.
Our stay was great, all staff were wonderful, but lacking a little on regular maintenance/cleanliness.
We knew the hotel offered free wifi, but it was secured with a password. We spent ages looking around the room and reading paperwork etc when I finally decided to call the restaurant to ask. The man in the restaurant told me he would find out and call my rooms phone back shortly. We waited 1 hour with no call back so I decided to call the after hours number. He told me the password is written on the paperwork that I was handed when I checked in - it 110% was not there. I got the password from him eventually, but this was a huge effort just to connect to complimentary wifi. Why is the password not written somewhere in the rooms? Or on the phone number list next to the phone?
Lots of big positives, but a few big negatives too.

Recently stayed here for 6 nights, the golf course is great, the restaurant and bar are good also but the rooms and the rest of the resort is where this place struggles. Our rooms carpet had stains, the balcony tiles were cracked/broken and our room had a really off Damp smell for a couple of days as well. There was no breakfast included as this had been cancelled due to COVID a month earlier but you could get lunch and dinner from the restaurant which seemed odd. The pool area has 6 sun lounges without pillows and very little surrounding it. To be honest, I would be happy to come again and play golf but not stay, it’s a 3 star resort at best that requires some upgrades across the rooms and facilities.

Four couples played golf at Links Lady bay and stayed overnight at the Resort Hotel. The first day was 39 deg.C and it was hot on the course buy we coped with that and were looking forward to a cool drink in air conditioned comfort. Problem was the air con in the common aeas of the hotel was poor and could not handle the heat. It was sweaty and uncomfortable in the bar and the dining room and the corridors were like saunas. The lack of decent airconditioning spoilt what was a nice dinner. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the servings were of good size. I had the linguini marinara which was great and the others enjoyed steaks, beef ribs and a chicken and peach salad. I would recommend them all.
The kicker for us though was that the aircon in our room only worked for about 10 minutes and then cut out. Hotel staff promptly moved us to another room which did have working air conditioning. The rooms were modern, clean and well appointed,

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good atmosphere about the place. On the golf side, James in the Pro-Shop looked after us well and we did enjoy a couple of rounds of golf on a good links style golf course. The greens were good and there were cute kangaroos grazing on the course.
We would certainly return but would try and pick a time when airconditioning would not be an issue. This is a wonderful area to relax for a day or two and only an hour and a half from Adelaide.

Was not impressed when upon check in I was asked to pay an additional $35 for use of the sofa bed. We had booked through website hotels.com and our booking confirmed 2 adults and 2 children - so this is very deceiving. They were able to accomodate a late checkout of 11am instead of 10am at no cost however would have cost an additional $15 to stay on till 12. The rooms really could do with renovations, furniture needs updating and the carpet was absolutely filthy. When you have little ones they like to play and roll on the floor and it was gross. The most disgusting thing yet was when I laid out the bathmat for a shower to find someone elses toe nail clippings on the mat, I was absolutely HORROFIED. Thankfully this happened on our last day otherwise I'm not sure I could have stayed there at all. Globe in the bathroom didn't work either.

The outdoor playground is great, kids loved it, but we happened to stay when temperature was above 38 degrees and as there is no shading kids couldn't stay and play for longer then 10 mins cause it was just too hot. So where for parents to sit down. Pool area is clean however pool is not heated so even with temperatures above 38 degrees the water was freezing. Very limited seating, only 6 lounge chairs available and they are all broken and worn out.

Seeing kangaroos so close in the evening was great for the kids. You can hire games for your room free of charge however $5 hire for tennis equipment which needs to be returned after a few hours.

We did have one meal at the resort, which was actually quite nice. Meals were quite generous in size so was okay for the price being charged.

I've had friends and family stay here and they've loved it. Overall however I felt that the facility could do with some major renovations.

Popped in for lunch on a bitterly cold Saturday. It was my first visit. The staff in the restaurant & bar could not have been more friendly & welcoming. We sat in the sports bar area. The wines by the glass selection was very generous with lots of SA wines. Ordered salt & pepper squid as well as a scotch fillet (garlic prawn sauce). The meals came out quickly, were generously sizes & were obviously made of super fresh produce. We couldn’t have been happier. The schnitzels & fish ‘n’ chips coming out of the kitchen looked great too. The bill came to $110 for two mains, a starter & five drinks - which is very reasonable. Nice view out over the golf course & coastline. Imagine it would be very pleasant for sundowners in summer. Barman was friendly & obviously happy to have us. We’ll drive back just to have lunch there.

We booked this as we wanted to see a very ill relative in the area. Unfortunately, the relative died, and we had to rearrange the accommodation. Usually, we would have to pay the first night cancellation, but Chris, the manager, was very understanding and sympathetic and waived the fee and re-booked the days we needed to be there for the funeral.
Our spa suite was big and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool /children’s area and golf course, and the sea on the horizon, giving us beautiful sunset views.
The staff were friendly and even though we didn’t have a car, we were given a number of a local lady who drives chauffeured cars, and dropped us off to the township. It is about a half an hours drive to Victor Harbour, and about a 70min drive to the airport.

We stayed one night using one of the State Government escape vouchers ($50) towards our room so the net cost was $109. The apartment was spacious with a separate bedroom with a comfy king bed and a large bathroom with a lovely spa tub. The kitchenette was well equipped to make our own breakfast. Fab views from the lounge dining area over the golf course and the sea beyond. Its a pity the resort is let down by the average food in the restaurant and young staff that need more training. The Fisherman's basket was pretty average and the Poke bowl lacked any finesse. The staff in the Golf shop were friendly and helpful with tips on the course and the course is brilliant to play on with the added bonus that you get a cheaper rate for being a house guest.

My wife and I had a bar meal overlooking the coast and golf course after a busy day of sightseeing. My wife had lime n pepper Calamari and raved about its freshness, flavors and texture saying it's the best she can remember eating anywhere. That a big tick of approval. I had an open steak sandwich and fries. Very nice. The serves were generous and the price was very reasonable considering its holiday season. The views are amazing and the staff were helpful and happy to be working there. The decor was fresh and open airy. We will be back to stay in the resort after eating in the restaurant

We have eaten here as a large group once or twice in the first week of January every year for almost 20 years. We have mostly had excellent service and great food off of a wonderful and varied menu.
Whilst we accept that Covid may have bought about some changes, and we have a very large group, it does not excuse the extremely limited set menu of 4 very basic main meal choices and a set entree for a relatively exorbitant price pp of $45.
We booked for 7.30pm. The last of our 5 tables were served their main meal at 9.15 pm. There was no apology.
The reason we were told we had to have a set menu was due to group size and yet we were placed 10 per table and served 20 minutes apart!!
The wine list, which we have tolerated in the past due to the great food and service, suddenly became limited and overpriced.
Unfortunately, the service was also average, with no friendly engagement. The manager did communicate several times with the person who made our booking, but that failed to address the groups very obvious annoyance at the lengthy delay in food delivery and what was perceived as a deliberate rort with the set menu and pricing.
Unlikely we will be back. So disappointing.

Booked there for dinner. The staff were friendly enough. Ordered Sushi Bowl and Seafood Basket. The rice in the Sushi Bowl was formed into a shape. When put fork into the rich it was solid and wouldn't fall apart easily. My Seafood Basket was terrible. It was cold. Fish batter was terrible. Chips looked and tasted like they were at least reheated from lunchtime and were terrible. The salad was a few little bits of lettuce and a very thinly slice piece of tomato. To top it off the staff member brought out our dessert and it was the wrong one. He comment was
"oh did I get that wrong "
It was an absolutely terrible meal for both of us.

Staff were very helpful, but did not book anything through the front desk. Lots to do in the area, including a great history museum at yankalilla tourist info centre. Apart from ferry to kangaroo island, pretty easy to get tickets to anything. I book all my own stuff online, including the links.
