In 2008, I tried to get a room but it was full. This time there was a double room and the owner gave me a reduction for single use, she also gave a glass of wine and a tapas. I have reviewed other hotels from my Camino and this was exceptional, classic furniture in a room with a seating area... More

This was such a lovely place. Our room was beautifully appointed with a gorgeous bath and very comfortable beds. It was just a delightful surprise after a day of driving along the Camino de Santiago. The breakfast was delicious the next morning and our dessert the evening before was also good. (We did not have dinner there). Everyone was very... More

I don't know that I've ever stayed in a building which has had such an effect on me. The galleried courtyard, drenched though it was in a monsoon-like rainstorm, immediately impressed me, as did the galleries themselves with their seemingly ancient wood, pottery and farm tools. The room we had was by no means modern but it oozed character in its... After staying mostly in packed albergues, this hotel seemed like paradise on the camino. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff at Reception. Welcomed with a glass of their wine and a sandwich, which was just what we needed after a long walk. Recommend this treat!

This hotel is one of the best along the Camino so far (I've stayed in about 40 of them). The staff is very friendly, speaks fairly good English and helps you with your fairly bad Spanish. The rooms are immaculate and very nicely appointed. Dinner was excellent (I had the local cuisine combination for about 25E). Don't hesitate to stay... More

Fabulous place to stay and eat and drink! After many walking days it was an oasis. Wonderful food, very friendly staff and lovely Spanish ambience. Should be staying 2 nights not one. Roasted pimintos ( roasted red capsicums prepared on the spot) are a must!

This little hotel was such a pleasant surprise. We had a lovely room with quality bedding, choice of pillows, good towels and nice touches like antiques and lace panels in the french doors. The gift shop was terrific with wine, handmade items and local specialties. But what makes this hotel truly special is the people who work there. Particularly Maria,... More

Amazing hotel on the Camino de Santiago, excellent food and very friendly staff. Was leaving really early so they gave me fruits & biscuits for the way. Rooms are very spacious and have all the commodities you would expect. My room had several antique pieces that gave it allot of character.

Moncloa de San Lazaro hotel in Cacabelos, Spain was such a delight I did not want to leave. Maria welcomed me with homemade empanadas and several tastes of local wine, and could not do enough to graciously make me comfortable. My room was small but so lovely, dark wood and nice quality antique-like furniture, wonderful crisp sheets, cozy blankets, a... More
