Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Rob and Lisa are the gems of this absolutely stunning Bed and Breakfast. What a wonderful escape from the city, surrounded by peace and quiet. Deer and other wildlife make this retreat a gem of a hideaway. What a welcoming experience with Rob and Lisa as such kind and friendly hosts. The breakfast was spectacular, often given a choice of what we wanted and accommodated to our dietary needs. The whole house was extremely clean and much to do around the house as well, including the saltwater pool, hot tub, bikes that the owners provided us to use, movies, books, CDS, and so on. The surrounding area was so lovely to explore by bike, along with the surrounding towns and Kiwi Gardens. Rob always gave us wonderful suggestions as to what to do including visiting Almonte, and Perth (two beautifully historic towns short distance from the Bed and Breakfast. So many towns to explore nearby, and great restaurant suggestions made by Rob and Lisa. We will be back soon to enjoy this lovely property again soon, including a second helping of your delicious maple bacon.

As soon as you start down the lane way you are taken back in history. This beautiful, old Stone house has literally been brought back from the ashes.

A step inside and you are surrounded by charming decor and greeted by amazing hosts. Liisa and Robert make you feel like family.

The rooms are bright, huge and comfortable. If the mood hits you, a pool and hot tub are tucked away on a gentle rolling hill beside Clyde Hall.

The grounds are meticulously manicured and tap lines for maple syrup production run through the sugar maple bush.

Time spent in the solarium enjoying a fresh brewed coffee and meeting other guests is such a treat. Don't forget to grab the photo album from the drawing room and settle in for a great read. This place has a lot of history.

We recently had our wedding ceremony in the area (May 16th) and stayed at Clyde Hall with immediate family (12 guests total). Liisa and Robert were fantastic hosts and prepared two delicious multi-course meals (including our wedding dinner), as well as breakfast for the two nights we stayed. The rooms had everything we needed to get ready and the common areas had plenty of space for persons to socialize during the down time. We also used the pool and hot-tub, although Robert thought we were crazy because it was still cold!

My wife and I stayed at Clyde Hall in July, 2022 for two days. This is a true B&B with multiple rooms and hosted by the owners. It is located in the town of Lanark about an hour drive from Ottawa.
The B&B is located in a fully renovate 175+ year old stone mansion. The house has all of the modern conveniences due to the ground up renovation. The interior is nicely decorated with many antiques to give it a period feel.
The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They previously owned a bakery in Toronto and have been running this establishment for a number of years.
The food was absolutely fantastic. We were presented with gourmet breakfasts both days.
This is an excellent location to do day trips from while in the Ottawa area with many historic sites within an hours drive.
I highly recommend staying in this gem of a B&B.

We enjoyed 3 days and 2 nights at Clyde Hall over the Christmas holidays, which allowed us to have distanced visits with family members in the area throughout the hoiidays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and found the food to be tremendous - Rob & Liisa created some incredible meals that we would return for that specific experience alone.

Additionally, Rob & Liisa went above and beyond to make us feel at home and welcome throughout our stay. We enjoyed their company and found them incredibly warm and hospitable.

Further, given our concerns with COVID-19, we felt completely comfortable and found that every safety measure was taken in terms of cleaning, distancing, use of masks etc.

We'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing and luxurious getaway with great food, and will look to return ourselves within the future.

We went for 2 nights to get away and to celebrate a 65th birthday. This lovely home is tucked away and we almost missed the turn in driveway. As it's getting close to Christmas the house is fully decorated inside and it's elegant and cozy. Our hosts were Robert and Lisa and you couldn't want for more welcoming or accommodating people.

We had booked the room with the King size bed and it's in a little house next door to the main house by itself. Every attention to detail has been provided. The privacy is lovely and we had a hot tub right outside the door. It was a frosty but lovely weekend. We used that hot tub 3 times, two evenings and one morning. The evenings were clear and cold but the moon and stars were shining and that hot tub was beautiful in a lovely setting and was truly a memorable highlight.

Breakfast is served in a spacious and elelgant dining room. They have several offerings such as fritatta, eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles and french toast. As I don't partake that kind of breakfast, and prefer a more continental style, they very kindly created a breakfast charcuterie with meats, cheeses, fruits as well as the lightest, flakiest croissants ever! This was after being served tiny bowls of vanilla yogurt studded with strawberries and blueberries. So thoughtfilly and beautifully presented. Also there was orange juice and coffee or tea. I was told they had never had anyone ask for a continental breakfast before. I guess they will now.

This was one of the best getaways we've ever had and we will definitely be back!

We just returned from a 2 night stay at Clyde Hall B&B and it was simply wonderful! Spotlessly clean, and the breakfasts are amazing. Lisa and Rob are the perfect hosts, and did everything to make our stay really special. We would highly recommend Clyde Hall if you are looking for a nice, relaxing break.

Simply superb! Lisa and Robert (hosts) go above and beyond to make your stay remarkable.
Extremely clean and regal. If you like antiques and royal decor then this place shines! The house is very well maintained. Plenty (loads) of outdoor and indoor common areas that are comfy and relaxing.
The breakfast was excellent too! Yes we are coming back!!

My husband and I spent two nights at this beautiful B&B, last week. This was our second visit and we were as pleased with this visit as we were with our first visit. Robert and Liisa are friendly, welcoming and professional. Their home is stunning and well kept. The breakfasts they serve are amazing! We will definitely return someday.

Having just stayed with my wife at Clyde Hall, we wish to echo any of the wonderful sentiments already expressed in previous reviews. Our hosts were amazing and accommodating. The Christmas Decorations made our stay seem magical. The breakfast was delicious and filling. We will absolutely be returning to this beautiful property and place to rest our heads.
