Sorry guys. Thought we might try a bit of small town Ireland town centre olde worlde charm. Oh dear. If that olde worlde but still exists, it ain't here. Just take this advice: don't. Just don't do it. Move on, anywhere but here.

Lovely, warm and friendly throughout in every way. Great staff! Good food. Central location. Old-fashioned- but in a good way! The open fire in Reception was very welcoming and seemed to always be lit - even at breakfast time!

A lovely hotel located in the heart of a thriving little town in the West of Ireland. Stopped for lunch with a group of hungry cyclists on route from Achill to Athlone. Great food and really attentive service. The hotel provided secure storage for bikes. Had really good soup and finger food and were back on the road in 45... More

If you’re staying at this hotel then, by definition, you’ve either have opted to take the slow train or, like Bogie in Casablanca, you’ve been misinformed. Very reasonable prices and a trip back in time to 30-50 years ago, when informality was king and before all the distractions of social media and deadlines took over our lives. Nobody is in... More

We didn't stay at this hotel but ate a beautiful meal there. We were staying at another hotel in Claremorris and unfortunately they were not showing a particular football match there. We arrived at the Western Hotel on a very bleak wet Sunday to be greeted by a very friendly member of staff who straight away put on the match... More

This is a lovely Family run hotel. If you want real value for money with good food and lovely friendly service, then this is the place to try. Now this place is not the Ritz, but you will feel at home in the western hotel. Thank you Tommy Raleigh.

Great welcome. Paul & staff very friendly & efficient. Dinner 7 breakfast excellent. Good bar. Rooms are a bit tired but comfortable. Not made up for second night, disappointed! No lift to 2nd floor could be a problem for some. Overall we enjoyed the hotel & would stay again if in area.

We stopped in here on a Sunday and had a delicious dinner. Great service and top class food. We were very happy with our food,I had the prawn cocktail to start and turkey and ham for mains. Hubby had soup of the day and and the beef for mains. Definitely recommend and will be back.
