Twice now we have stayed at Abode. Both times we have found it to be clean, comfortable and the staff pleasant to deal with. We stayed in rooms 38 and 43. As far as pet friendly accomodation, this is the nicest stop over location we have found when travelling up and down the East Coast.
We didn’t discover until our second stay that there was a communal kitchen for use, as we arrived late the first time and it wasn’t pointed out to us. Second time round we used this facility and it was great when travelling with our kids.

Room Tip:Â Pub food was well over rated. Better to cook your own in the communal kitchen.

This place looks very nice and modern. Big spacious room. There were no heater in the bathroom and no restaurant which make it difficult to find something to eat.
Seems all the rooms have a glass door facing out so easier to bring the luggage back to your car. The place was easy to find as it's located in the hook of the main road and not noisy. However there's no place of interest nearby.

This motel is New and stylish and very clean. Great bed and good pillows! A miracle. We could cook our own dinner but strolled to the nearby pub for a chicken schnitty which was not the best. Motel had easy parking and entry to room from park was easy.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. Each room has aircon so you can set it to whatever temperature you want. It rained all weekend we visited so it was good for dealing with the humidity.
The issue I had was with the bathroom. There was mould, and that slimy yellow stuff before it becomes black mould all in the shower grout. I tried using a face washer to get rid of some of this but it’s not the easiest thing to wash off with just water. With a sponge and some sort of cleaner you could sort it out in 10 minutes. I had a massive problem with this - I wouldn’t leave it like that in my own shower, I don’t want to wash in it when I’m in a hotel.
Its really disappointing, it ruined an otherwise good stay.
Not sure if anyone needs to know either but there isn’t one of those disposable shower caps amongst there amenities. I usually pack my own but I’m so used to there being one that I didn’t worry about it. That’s my mistake though, I should’ve been more organised.

Worst hotel in Murrumbateman. I will make sure to book another hotel in the area. Manager is rude and staff is always sleeping. They donot care about their customers. There is shortage of amenities, maybe because of holiday season in December. Room was extremely dirty and dusty with mosquitoes roaming around. Breakfast is ridiculously expensive with rubbish food. If you want to stay in abode Murrumbateman then don’t come in December. They are overcharging for no reason. Manager and staff only want to rip of customers and they come to your room without knocking the door. Guys keep your things safe.

We decided to stay hear to be close to the wineries we were visiting in Murrumbateman for the weekend but regretted it as soon as we got to our room. We paid for a terrace room that, based on images from the website, had an outdoor sitting area attached. Our terrace was directly in front of the car park, literally 1m from our chairs were cars that you could also see from your bed so zero privacy and zero appeal!
>>Our room was SO DIRTY, the bathroom sink was stained, there was old coffee cups and dirty water on the bench, there was chocolate wrappers in the wine stained blanket, and OLD Q TIPS AND FLOSS on the floor!!! Horrific.
When we brought this to the attention of the lady at reception she just shrugged and said "people aren't perfect". She did not apologise or offer even a new clean blanket!
Do not stay here. If you are visiting Murrumbateman, you are better off staying in Canberra and making the 20 min drive into town then staying in this sub par motel.

An easy drive from the hustle and bustle of Canberra. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and linen was first class. Despite being close to the Barton Highway, the windows are double glazed and it was very quiet. Staff were friendly & efficient. Highly recommended. Close to the local pub where the food is great!

We spent two nights at Abode but were disappointed with room amenities and lack of suitable furniture, especially chairs and bedside tables. On arrival we were offered a room which required a long walk from reception. The room substituted was very small and we needed to ask for a chair to be added. When we travel we like to be able to plug in a laptop but there was no designed space for this. The hotel has no dining room but offers facilities in a communal area. Given 'lockdown' conditions, we were disinclined to use this area with a group of people who were not wearing masks and social distancing appropriately.

It is a very new Motel. It is nicely decorated, spacious and is well set out. BUT... the rooms are almost identical hence our dissatisfaction. We paid for a room with a terrace. We were, on booking told that was the nicest room and the contanental breakfast was included in this room rate. Also we were told it didn't have a view of the carpark. It not only did have a view of the Motel carpark it also had a view of the large carpark across the road. As far as the terrace goes for our room it was only slightly larger than all the other rooms. The breakfast at $15 per person was less than adequate and really over priced. My advice if you are a couple just get lower priced room and get your breakfast up the road in the village.

We were there to attend a wedding in the area and it was very convenient. The hotel was very clean and the room was quiet and comfortable. Having the communal kitchen is great where we could sit with our relatives for a drink. There is plenty of parking. Our only minor concerns were some water splashing out of the shower as the screen is a little narrow, and the teabags were awful. This was not our first stay there and we’d definitely stay there again.
