Amazing place, Amazing service. Amazing hospitality. Very peaceful and comfortable, the tent or shall I say castle is a wonderful experience with wooden style decorations. The tent is very spacious and there are several seating areas , each one with different style to match all tastes. Fool is very good and above all the staff and management are very helpful and welcoming. They also organize the game safari and tours in the park in a very organized and professional way.

What an idyllic location to stay! The location of Nyerere Tented Camp is completely surrounded by nature. Every luxury tent is private, being secluded by the plants, so you have constant sightings of squirrels, birds, geckos, frogs, and many interesting insects. At night, there are also some bats flying around, and you fall asleep to the sound of insects and other wildlife - we heard hyena, and some other animals which we couldn't identify. The tents themselves are very secure, well-protected from any mozzies (we didn't get bitten once), and nicely designed with comfortable seats, plenty of storage space, and of course great beds. There are plenty of power points, and a fan, so although you are "in the bush", you are still very pampered. There are no toiletries included, which wasn't a problem for us, but good to be aware of! The food was absolutely delicious, and you are provided with so much that it is really impossible to go hungry. Drinks were also reasonably priced, and cheaper than our other stays in other parts of Tanzania/Zanzibar. I really recommend their watermelon juice!! Lastly, hats off to the staff themselves. We ended up staying for an impromptu extra day, but this was no issue for any of the staff members, who happily provided us with everything we needed, and organised extra excursions and activities for us to enjoy!

We just returned from a group trip to Tanzania, where our group of over a dozen travelers (now new friends), spent three nights at the beautiful Nyerere Tented Camp. The camp was spectacular, welcoming and very well laid out. The elevated, thatched roof lodging "Tents" are amazingly built, and feature a heavy, sturdy and well ventilated inner canvas walled / screened tent with zippered entry that includes smooth, rich wood floors, sturdy furnishings, a comfortable bed with netting canopy, an indoor flush toilet, vanity with sinks and a comfortable shower. The tents have electric outlets, lights and a floor standing fan was provided for our comfort. The large central thatched roof "lodge" was spectacularly built and comfortably furnished for lounging and meals as a group, couples, etc. A bar provided refreshing cold beverages. The kitchen prepared delicious food and the meals were hand carried and served to each of us at our tables. The management and staff was very friendly and efficient. The staff also included Massai "monitors" that provided movement of baggage to and from tents as well as evening / night escort service and security around the camp. My wife and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary while at the camp, where the kitchen prepared a special "celebratory" cake for us. The entire staff also conducted a lively traditional celebration ceremony for our anniversary, featuring singing and chanting, held around the group fireplace. Our visit made for memories that will last a lifetime.

Dear Simona, Thank you very much for sharing your experience at Nyerere Tented Camp. It was a pleasure hosting you and we are so happy to hear that you had delicious food and that the staff is kind and attentive. It's fantastic to know you found the tents comfortable and very big, and that the Camp overall is clean, quiet and beautiful. Being in the middle of nature and close to the unfenced boundary of the park is what gives this Camp a feeling of being inside the park. The Safari spirit is immediate. We very much look forward to welcoming you back next time. Karibu Tena!

Fantastic safari lodge , wonderful welcome from Germano and his team , we could not have chosen better . Accommodation is in spacious rooms - insect proof tents within a wooden building so feel you are in the park but so comfortable , safe and clean. We heard hyenas every night and woke up to birdsong. Great food , cold beer but above all such warm Tanzanian hospitality. The Nyere National park is very close and we did. river safari on Rufiji River - very close to huge croc, and hippos galore , many birds - including the beautiful African fish eagle .Full day safari with best guide Kapande , saw elephant , lion , many giraffe , impala , Kudu, warthogs, zebra. sunrise walking safari in the park and also walk with Bushman Didi a highlight too. Highly recommended .

My family, 2 daughters and me, went on a 3 day safari at Nyerere tented camp. They arranged all transfers from Zanzibar and we felt welcome from the first moment on! We had 2 beautiful and comfortable tents with bathroom inside, amazing tour guide who had all the knowledge of the park and the animals, very tasty meals and a very friendly waiter! For the all day game drive we had the best guide: Rama, who shared his extensive knowledge and passion with us. The online booking was extremely easy from Germany on. We highly recommend this camp!

We stayed here as part of a tour around selous, and I have to say given where we were the accommodation and food was very good. Thomas was an excellent host and I have to say the food was great. There is little to zero to do and Wi-Fi only available in the bar. The rooms were better than expected, although when we got to our room there was a huge spider on it, which did freak us out if I’m honest, but hey you are in the middle of the bush so please expect it. The reason for 4 stars was we didn’t sleep great and the shower wasn’t great, but this place is a great spot to stay during a safari.

Dear Jasonewebb Thank you very much for taking the time to submit your review and giving us valuable feedback. We pride ourselves on delivering an authentic bush experience without compromising the service, comfort, and safety. Very rarely we do have an issue with spiders, however, since we are strategically located in the middle of the bush this can happen. We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this incident. We are very pleased to hear you were able to enjoy the meals and that the rooms were better than expected. It is also great that our staff made your stay pleasant!

We did a two day safari with one overnight stay in the Nyerere National Park (Selous). We stayed at the Nyerere Tented Camp and were happy that we had chosen this camp. The tents were really comfortable and we had the chance to listen to the wildlife during the night as the tents are open and protected by mosquito nets. The staff was very kind and the food was also good. At the evening they made a campfire while we enjoyed one tanzanian beer. We did the Safari with Rama. He is a very experienced tour guide as he told us a lot about the different animals in the park and took us to the right spots where we even had the chance to observe a lion-pride from nearby. We also did a boat tour and a bush walking tour where we also got a lot informations about hippos and crocodiles. We could definately recomend staying at the Nyerere Tented camp and do the Safari with Daigle Tours.
