Staid 2 nights at Ek Tun and it was lovely: Leave all your sorrows, worries and expectations to civilization back and take the risk to be in nature - real and un-spoiled nature. I never saw such a beautiful natural resort with a landscape that's...More
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed Ek Tun. The landscape is fantastic! Very remote, yes, it's not exactly easy to get there, but it is a little corner of paradise with a wonderful host. If you are the outdoorsy type and looking for a romantic...More

Ek Tun is a remote lodge (not resort by any means) at the end of 6 miles of rough dirt/rock road and across a river. It is an absolute piece of paradise once you are there.

My husband and I are very interested in seeing if there is availability, but I cannot seem to find contact info to call or email. Any suggestions? Also, I wanted to see on a map where Ek' Tun is in relation to ruins and transportation. Does Ek' Tun offer help in arranging tours to the ruins?

Although our trip was mostly wonderful in terms of food and accommodations, and we enjoyed the owner's hospitality, we have several friends who have attempted to contact her to no avail. This may because of a wifi problem or perhaps she is no longer encouraging others to visit. EkTun is approximately 12 miles from Guatemala border, about 6 miles south of San Ignacio. Xunantunich was within that 12 miles and are spectacular ruins. You will need a rental car to visit other destinations if you stay at Ek' Tun. Close by is Black Rock which is across the river from Ek' Tun.
