stayed with our family of four son 17 daughter 11, let me preface this by saying this place is only 25-30 minutes out of San Ignacio and the road is dirt, AND THAT WAS PART OF THE ADVENTURE! we did not mind that at all, because once you drive by the rolling pastures and enter the amazing jungle and Makal...

Believe all the great things that have been said about BRL! I was very lucky to stay here in December with my mom and daughter, thanks to Beaulah for helping with my reservation. The location of Black Rock Lodge is breath-taking and just getting there is already an adventure in itself. The cabins are surprisingly spacious and ours had a...

This place is awesome. However, if you think you're going to have the same experience here as you would at the W, you're going to have a bad time. The resort is about 30 minutes hard travel on dirt roads off the main road. It is in the middle of the Jungle - this is a place to enjoy the...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights as part of a 2 week trip to Belize. It's a great spot deep in the rainforest great for watching wild life. We really enjoyed our time here and the staff were very welcoming. You can also book plenty of excursions in the surrounding Cayo district from here. Pros: Great views...

Lets be clear, this is an eco lodge in the middle of the jungle. It's like stepping into Jurassic Park, minus the dinosaurs. Its remote, its utter wilderness, its ore inspiring and its amazing. There is nothing else around for miles and miles, yes its deep in the jungle and that is the point of it - it's a jungle...

Well, my boyfriend I decided to check out this place because I read nothing but great reviews from Tripadvisor’s Choice Winner and we like to explore local the ruins/Mayan, cape tubing in San Ignacio however, it wasn't true at all. I don’t understand how travelers gave this place 5 star reviews. The lodge wasn't same as pics shown and was...

I know i will sound like a broken record when I say what every reviewer before me has said. This place is the best. Yes, it is in the jungle alongside the Macal River with natural beauty all around but the staff truly makes the Black Rock Lodge the enjoyable place that it is. You are in a very remote...

By the time i arrived at black rock river lodge i had been travelling for 10 days and my luggage still had not caught up with me. I could easilyhave been the grumpiest visitor in town. The staff at the lodge immediately set about helping me out. They gave me clothes and swimming trunks and walking boots. Drove me down...
