Stopped in for lunch and to check out future possibility for free camping. Burgers were simple but delicious... soft buns, tender meat patty, fresh salad, fried onions and at $10 well-priced. Option to pay $2 for a side of chips per burger but we opted to share wedges with sweet chilli & sour cream $8... struggled to finish them. Friendly staff. Despite the No Dogz sign our dog was ok in the outdoor beer garden.

Glad we called into the Lunatic Hotel. Staff were friendly and attentive both the young lady at the bar and the kitchen lady. Our food was delicious. I had the best prawn cutlets and potato scallop Food was not greasy. Coffee was made just perfectly as asked for.. We sat outside and the atmosphere was really country. Amenities were exceptionally clean as was the whole place. Thank you for a lovely experience. Will be calling in again.

Called in to the hotel on the way to Tenterfield and I am so glad we did. Wonderful service from the lady at the bar friendly and helpful we grabbed ice cold beers and headed outside where the locals informed us best place to sit. What a great establishment so friendly and we will be back again for a feed.

stayed here for three nights while visiting the area, staff friendly and helpful. Did have a meal there and found it tasty and a very generous serve, (could not finish it all). Accommodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Would stay again if in the area.

Welcoming community hotel. Had to come here, so glad we did. Friendly loveable locals welcomed us. We free camped (if you do, please support the pub) and had the place to ourselves. If you’re travelling this way call in. Great pub grub and wonderful people. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

We stayed overnight on the way through on a motorbike trip. We had a great time. The staff were friendly and the locals in the pub very welcoming. Just a basic country pub with a warm friendly crowd. We'll be back for sure, just for the hospitality.... oh and the steak is fantastic!

Worth a stop off for brekky lunch or dinner. Good cheap accomodation as well. The locals are very friendly but not a lot to do around there. Try the asian hot pot, very good. Found schnitzels a bit dry.

Whilst caravanning on the Brnxner Highway, NSW, there was a storm warning with severe winds and heavy hail. We pulled into the Lunatic Hotel, Drake, NSW, and asked if there was a caravan park locally. The proprietor, Desley, showed us a hard standing area, free of charge. We dined in the hotel that night and found the home cooked meals to be just as welcome as the owner. Hope to travel back through there one day

We had intended to have lunch here, on our way up north, as the information from trip advisor suggested it would be good. However, we arrived at 1.55 and were told that there was no hot food available so we left.

Lunatic Hotel was recommended to us by a local in Lismore ( NSW) and she was spot on. As there were eight of us we rang ahead and booked the Dongas ( for want of a better word ). We arrived at about 5pm and the frost was just starting to settle.
We settled into the Dongas and found our way over the Pub. Great meal was enjoyed by all. Big servings and cold beer. Lots to have a look at in the Pub.
It was a freezing cold night and even the minus 3 sleeping bag were put to the test.
The next morning it was white and locals recommended not riding before about 0930 - 1000,so we went back to the Pub for hot coffee and breakfast and waited for the black ice to melt.
Great bike friendly place with good meals and cheap accommodation.
