The bungalows are very basic but quite spacious, there is no electricity during the day but that was not an issue at all. The pace was stunning and it was an amazing gateway. Relax, quite beach, good people and fresh food is what you get and that is all you need.

Madak Belo was easily our favorite stay on our month long trip to Indonesia. As it's not one of the three popular Gilis, it's not a place you'll usually find in a guidebook. We were tipped off on going by fellow travelers and were we ever glad we listened! Dependent on what type of traveller you are, this could be...

Have heard about this place from our friends, and dropped by a few weeks ago on a day trip from Sengigi and ended up staying a night here. Seriously breathtaking views, peaceful and quite, and a lovely staff to cater for your every need. Will definitely be back here again one day.

We stayed for 2 nights at one of the beach bungalows and up to now, this has been the most beautiful place we ever slept. The bungalow is spacious and basic, equipped with a good mosquito net and a very nice veranda to relax. The outdoor bathroom has a salt (cold) water shower and there is no electricity during the...

There is very little information about Madak Belo on their website that people should know about before thinking about staying there. - no meat on the menu, only vegetarian. - the price of food is more expensive then on the famous Gilis in the north(Gili Trawangan) - no electricity during the days. - no internet. - "Any booking is due",...

Madak Belo is out of the way, access by boat only, which means it is private, quiet, paradise. The food is awesome, quick, bealthy. I cant put into words how much i enjoyed my stay here. Thanks so much Henry,...

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed for 8 days at the 2 rooms in the main building. You are in for an authentic experience at Madak-Belo. We had a long day by slow ferry from Bali and it is breathtaking to arrive at Madak Belo and jump in the tranquil waters. The rooms are very comfortable...

Madak Belo is off the beaten path which makes it a lovely place to spend a few days just relaxing. The balcony of the big house has wonderful breezes to enjoy from the hammocks and the views are awesome. The sunrises are beautiful and the twinkling lights of the fishermen at night seemed magical. The snorkeling in front of the...

We definitely wanted the peace and quiet, which they have in abundance, but we didn't care for the lack of some basic conveniences. Electricity is only on from 6pm - midnight, which isn't a deal breaker, but a fan sure would have been nice at night. Living without hot running water isn't a problem, but salt water showers were a...

Peace and tranquility. Wicked place to chill out. The big house with the share bathroom is beautiful and convenient. Food is exellent, try mackerel and vinagar. Staff is very nice and kind. Sunrise is amazing. Missing a nice reef on the beach a front...but even in paradise you can't get everything you want! Enjoy your stay

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel consists in 2 beach bungalows, 3 rooms, a bar and a restaurant. All the construction have been made in the respect of nature using as much as it can wood, bambu, stones and traditional "alang-alang" grass roof. Located a few steps from the sea, these 2 bungalows got their own private open-air bathroom and a big terrace each. The 3 Rooms share a bathroom and a big sea view terrace. The bar always plays international good tunes (we hope so!!) and offers a large selection of international spirits, some home flavored rums, sodas and fresh fruit juice from 07h00 until 23h00 (or more). The restaurant can guaranty extreme freshness as all the dishes are prepared on order. We go everyday to the market so what is on the menu is available and as fresh as possible. We can organize snorkeling trips to Gili Layar and Gili Ringit, day trip to Gili Nanggu and Gili Sudak. If you need any transport for your way back, we can arrange it too. Madak Belo is a small hotel but run with a big heart. ... more   less
