Thornton Beach Bungalows in the heart of the Daintree are just across the road from stunning Thornton Beach, one of the best beaches on the Daintree Coast. We are nestled between The Daintree World Heritage National Park and the Great Barrier Reef. Our 2 Queen ensuite Bungalows are the ideal accommodation for a relaxing holiday for 2 with their own private bbq area and views of the Coral Sea and surrounding rainforest. The Big Bungalow is a 2.5 bedroom house at the rear of the property with a full kitchen and an open plan living area featuring louver windows to capture the sea breeze and give beautiful views of the rainforest, gardens and out to the Coral Sea. Free wifi is available throughout the property.

We stayed at Thornton beach for 2 days while driving up north along the Bloomfield track through the Daintree. They are lovely little cabins across the road from the beach and are at one with the stunning nature of the region. So much wildlife abounds. From beautiful butterflies and birds to wallabies and cassowaries, and giant spiders. There are many walks through the rainforest and the beach walks are beautiful. I would Highly recommend a stay here.

Dean greeted us on arrival & showed us around. What a stunning environment!! If you know the daintree its a remote part of australia, i learnt everyone that owns property has to make their own electricity source & water is precious. If you want to escape and unwind this is the perfect location for you! You could not ask for better hosts.

Ocean and Rainforest, that's why you visit this area. And you can do that from a cosy little house with a nice host. No kitchen, but a bbq, and a restaurant accross the road, on the beachside. Sunrise available 😁. And: a good opportunity to see casuaries! We did!

Lovely little cabins, spotlessly clean and with nice little extras such as hibiscus on pillows etc. Great position right across the road from lovely beach (be aware of crocodile dangers here). Nice cafe opposite we went for breakfast with very generous portions. The bungalows provided BBQ facilities with everything needed eg. oil, tongs, paper towel, insect spray etc. Highly recommend for short stay.

Awesome location in the rainforest and veeery close to the beach - just across the Street. Everything was tidy and clean and the bed was comfortable too. Very friendly hosts as well. They do have a lot good tips for your time in Daintree. If you stay there check out the Daintree ice cream company (the offered flavors change from day to day, so definitly worth a second visist :) )and do the exotic fruit tasting at cap trib farms.

Lovely small bungalow in a beautiful setting opposite the beach, unfortunately not a swimming beach, due to crocodiles. The bungalow was very small, we had to keep our bags in the bathroom. Would have liked a toaster or microwave, but as they are on solar the microwave would take too much electricity. We did however make good use of the BBQ, with all utensils, and oil supplied. We did buy our meat and salad in Port Douglas. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

Karen and Drew have made the two bungalows very attractive and they really are just across the road from the beach with wonderful views and sand to dig your toes into. Loads of butterflies to watch while sitting on the porch and plenty of great hikes within a short drive. If you like to be self-sufficient and don't need loads of room for luggage, it really is a perfect cabin for two. Be ready to be mostly unplugged and enjoy the quiet.

Thank you Karen & Drew for having us, your tips around the area & stories. We loved every minute at the Daintree Rainforest. The beach is just across the street and Cape Tribulation with top food places is just a short drive away. Really can't wait to be back in the area.

Best place to stay ever!! I can not believe the picturesque views of the cabin with the rainforest surrounding the bungalow and the beach view literally from your bed. Your own little shaded bbq area outside your bungalow with a wonderful cafe literally across the road. Karen and Drew are the nicest most helpful hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Can not Thankyou enough. Thanks again. It was an incredible will most definitely be back!!! Great value for money!!!

We sadly only had time for one night at Thornton Bungalows. What a lovely spot, just back off the beach with lovely rainforest all around. Karen and Drew were so helpful and the bungalow was great. The bed was absolutely, delightfully comfortable. Best night's sleep! Great Cafe across the road for breakfast on the beach.
