My partner, friend and I stopped by for a bit of dinner as I remember good meals here a somewhat 5 years ago. Anyway we were lead to a bar/waiting area to be then lead to the table. We were told they were busy with a table of 12 and a table of 7 tonight which we were fine with.... More

Four days away, Ken and his staff were outstanding. Great relaxing time in old Manor House. Fantastic food, lovely room, brilliant few days rest. Location is stunning, four days didn't do it justice. Breakfast and evening meals, unable to fault. Thoroughly recommend this great family run hotel.

I did not stay in the hotel, we just used the restaurant for a meal and are glad we did. The restaurant is nothing special to look at but we found the staff to be very helpful as well as polite and friendly. The food was really well cooked and full of flavour without being too expensive. All in all... More

Hotel easy to find and well signposted. Staff lovely very efficient and professional. Now for the hotel itself - Could do with a new paint job both inside and out. Room was a bit shabby but clean, the wee sink in the wee bathroom with a wee shower made me chuckle as i'm not a wee person. Evening meal a... More

Me and my partner come here regularly as a treat. The steaks are cooked perfectly. My favourite is the highland chicken. The toffee and banana sundae is the best desert I've ever had in my life. The staff are very efficient and very welcoming. My favourite place to eat, it's just on the outskirts of Dumfries. It's located in a... More

Stayed overnight on the way to Royal Troon for the best day's golf watching ever. The Manor House Hotel felt like home; warm friendly and welcoming. No straight lines, right angles and hard edges like a 'chain' hotel. Great bar for an evening's relaxation (challenge Jim to a game of pool!) and the cheapest Guinness we have encountered for a... The owners are very nice and they made our stay lovely, hospitality great. Feel bad but think should point out when got to room was quite dissapointed as was in need of updating, and a freshen up. Hole in wall, lampshade broken, bath panel cracked and bit missing. Aside that my kids thought it was the best hotel they had... More

Very friendly, good sized rooms, very good food. A little decor issues requiring attention but not detracting from a high standard of cleanliness throughout. The only issue found was the sat-nav location was wrong, directing you to a different location. The sign to the hotel entrance is also not as clear as it could be depending on your direction of...
