What a disappointment. Booked an ensuite site. White fluffy towels do not compensate for the state of the ensuite. Mould in the shower, around the vanity, in the grout on the floor, grout falling out of tiles, toilet bowl black, flyscreen crushed in dirt. Even the broom had a layer of dirt on it and the bin needed a wipe over. NRMA charge top prices for this resort, they need to pull their finger out and upgrade the facilities. Clearly spend a lot of money on building cabins. Hope they are in better condition!

We were after a birthday break away and chose this Resort as it was close to Bateman's Bay and we had not been there before.
We arrived and checked in - all good. First issue was parking or the lack thereof next to our villa. We had to park a bit away and lug all our stuff along a wet, muddy pathway to our villa. Then we noticed different things. The Ocean Spa villas and the Beach Villas all had parking next to the villas, the Ocean beach villas did not. The Ocean Spa villas all had a Weber on the deck, the reason why was discovered when we found out that 'kitchen' was a loose description of what was available. No oven! just a two burner gas hotplate and a microwave. Rightly or wrongly, if an oven was not available [and who does not include an oven in a villa?] why wasn't this mentioned on the website. This was not a functioning kitchen and it was annoying especially as we had shopped in the Bay and brought sufficient meals for our stay - to cook in an oven!!! Further inspection of the cupboards revealed a frypan, which had to be used. That night, the shower slowed down pressure wise and we barely had any hot water. The following night we had to stagger washing up and showers, so that we had sufficient hot water to shower.
The ceiling fan in the living area was filthy and the blades had not been cleaned for a long time. There were strange lumps in the carpet in both bedrooms, felt when walking barefoot [underlay broken up?] who knows. The mattress in the second bedroom needs to be replaced as it is bordering on very hard and was uncomfortable. The grout in the shower had black mould in places and should have been cleaned off.
Overall, the location was gorgeous, the kangaroos were cute and the beach was great to walk along. We did not visit the cafe etc. as we had all our own needs. The pathway in front of the Ocean villas needs to urgently be gravelled, to cut down on the wet and muddy trek from the parking area. The website mentioned they had spent $1M on refurbishment of the park? it wasn't anywhere near us, the villa needs to be repainted and little repairs need to be fixed.

I’m writing this at 1am, with the family who arrived at the safari tent right next to us at 11:45pm still making a racket. The 5-yr old has carried on the entire time with, it seems, no effort to quiet her. The previous 2 nights were a different family who played music til late, admittedly not too loud but with a stomping dance party for half an hour at 9:30pm. For reference, my child is in bed and asleep by 8pm. Last night, was also a group of young adults staying in the garden villas very close to us, that had very loud music on all evening accompanied by bad singing. They did turn it down by 10pm, but at 11:30pm there was a loud crash and then loud outbursts and carrying on by the group for a while.

It is the October school holidays, so the park is full. It may be that the odds of you not getting these inconsiderate neighbours in off peak is better.

The park is in a fabulous location, the beach has a fairly steep slope into the water and is not patrolled. At low tide, you can cross over the rock shelf that runs around the Southern shore. There’s plenty for the kids to do and it’s great having a cafe on site.

1:23pm finally silence from next door

We stayed here for 5 nights in Feb 2022. Aware of the poor reviews for the ocean and beach front villas, we were a bit wary, but our garden villa (which was the only available room type for our chosen dates when we booked) was clean and well equipped. No complaints at all. The resort itself we found to be great. Although the weather was cool and rainy (thanks, La Nina) we still found some opportunities to use the pool and observed that the entire area around it is set up for groups and families. The beach in front of the resort isn't really suitable for swimming, it drops in steeply, waves crash right on the shore and it was choked with seaweed. The beach off the north end of the resort just a couple of minutes walk away is far better.

Kangaroos own the beachfront and the lawn areas of the resort and it was good to see everyone complying with the directive not to feed or pet them.

The bistro/takeaway was unpretentious and entirely adequate, but they were not open every day for breakfast and dinner. It was not peak season though.

If you are Australian, you may be annoyed by the kangaroos, BUT if you come from different shores, this is the place you want to stay. You will encounter them almost everywhere in the park and the beach. There are also many different types of birds in significant numbers.

We only stayed one night but found
(1) The house we were assigned was clean and large.
(2) The bar / restaurant had tasty food and drink.
(3) The staff was very helpful and friendly
(4) The beach location was exceptionally beautiful, and you are seconds away from it no matter which room you have.
(5) There are a lot of furry and feathery creatures that you will see up close.

We would stay here again.

We stayed in a Beach Spa Cabin which sits right on the beach. Each cabin has a front porch where you can sit and watch the dolphins playing in the bay and also watch the antics of the lacal Kangaroos. Our cabin had one bedroom with a large double bed and ensuite bathroom with a spa bath / shower. There is pleanty of cupboard space in the bedroom with room to spare. The kitchen was very basically equiped with a full size fridge, microwave and 2 burner gas cooktop. Kitchen equipment was minimal with 4 of everything. Cookware was terrible stainless steel that everything stuck to, no non stick here.
The lounge consisted of one very uncomfortable couch / fold out bed and one single lounge chair. The dining area consisted of a 4 place dining table and the vinyl was peeling from the chairs. All in all, the cabin was getting tatty and needed a revamp. Price of accomodation does not reflect the quality and in my opinion is overpriced.

Came in to book for a night, reception couldn’t give us the NRMA members discount, couldn’t even take the time to look up our names and see if we were in the system

Facilities are dated and have a damp feel overall.

Worst of all, showers cost $1 for 4 minutes, and we were not informed of this until going into the bathroom, Crazy to pay for showers on top of the $60 per night powered sight.

Read other reviews about the same issue, but discovered that management was aware of the problem, back when the showers were limited to 6 minutes per dollar!!! Clearly management is more interested in money and is using an “eco warrior” facade to mask this intention, all other environment-focused parks I’ve visited have had included showers with 4 minute timer limits which seems to work just fine, for FREE

Will not be back, caravan park up the road will have our business.

The resort was recommended to us by a work colleague. Enjoyed a 3 night stay in an Ocean Spa Villa before the Easter and School Holiday rush. We had read a few negative reviews and were a little unsure on what to expect, but our fears were unfounded. The beachfront location was stunning and the villa was well maintained. The king sized bed was comfortable with a decent sized TV. However it did seem a little odd having a frosted glass toilet door and wall. Time to watch TV in the other room. Unfortunately the bistro was closed for 2 nights of our 3 night stay which meant a bit of a drive into Bateman's Bay for dinner, but we did enjoy a pizza by the pool on our last night. We were advised to take bottled water for making a cup of tea, so did not try the water in house. The weather was sunny and warm, perfect after the weeks of rain and flooding in Sydney. Planning to stay longer next time.

We stayed in a beachfront cabin mid-week. We had to book months in advance due to popularity.

The cabin was large and clean. There was a large bedroom with plenty of space, large ensuite, a working kitchen, meals area and a loungeroom with tv.

The view from the loungeroom was magnificent and we walked straight off the veranda onto the beach.

The beach is relatively sheltered and a lovely colour with plenty of sand. The property has tame kangaroos.

Our stay was quiet despite the park being fully booked. Lots of family groups staying in the tent area.

There is a decent pool onsite, a takeaway bar, drinks bar and a cafe. Expect pub fare from these places and huge servings. Also, keep an eye on the time because they only serve food during set periods.

There is nowhere else to eat unless you bring your own BBQ food or drive somewhere.

There is a farm along the road that sells delicious strawberry ice creams and farm gate produce.

We took our 4wd through the National Park. There is a track right next to the holiday park. We had fun bush bashing to the isolated beaches in the National Park. Amazingly there were some people who took their 2-door Kias etc along the tracks. They are more game than me.

The big draw card is to drive through the National Park to the large Rockpool at North Head. You can go snorkelling there if the sea is flat so keep an eye on the weather conditions.

It is tricky to get there. Basically you drive along North Head Rd through the National Park until you reach a carpark just before a camping site. Park at the carpark and go directly to the beach from there. If you head North up the beach to the cliffs with the rocks underneath, there is a fair walk to along the rocks to reach the rock pool. Definitely wear your wetsuits shoes or something similar because there are sharp rocks and small pools that you will have to walk through in order to reach the main pool.

We stayed Monday 24th to Friday 28th. We had powered site 258, right up the top end of the park near the boat ramp. On the map it looks a long way from the amenities but it's less than 2 mins walk. 1 min to the beach. We found the vanpark area very clean and spacious. Lots of room between the van sites. Quiet too (but this is a family park so could be noisy when fully booked) The side of the park we stayed has had artifical turf laid next to the parking pads. It was very pleasant to walk on and kept dirt out of the van.
We ate at the Bistro once, not a huge choice but well presented and reasonably priced. Very much family pub food -burgers, pizza, etc only one seafood option on the menu (seafood basket) and that was deep fried everything. I realise that if you want a restaurant
meal with a drink you have to drive into Batemans bay 15 mins away..which puts you off if you're tired.
It was a bit annoying that it was only open from 5 to 8pm weds to sun. On site Takeaway tues to sun. Poolside bar only fri and sat. (Bistro did sell takeaway drinks). The pool was lovely and clean.
The facilities bathrooms, laundry, communal BBQ's etc were all clean. Cleaning could be better, but nothing was filthy. We had a big walk around and it's clear that some of the older villas need some serious maintenance, but NRMA has only owned the park 2 years - there are signs that things are being worked on.
We also chatted to quite a few van owners like us 5 couples of the 6 were repeat guests. So that tells me the standards are generally maintained.
All in all? I'd recommend it! If you want to stay at a park where everything is shiny and new, be prepared to pay the price. If you want a relaxed and comfortable bush setting on the beach this park is pretty good.
