The reps are underpaid and overworked and rely on tips to make job worthwhile. You get best attention if you are what they call "VIP" guests. If you stick a few marbles in your mouth and gave the impression you are wealthy expect a fair bit of charm and flattery. The reps themselves are sympathetic to the less than value for money "ordinary" guests get, compared to the well heeled, but a charm offensive supplements the wage and can even get them invites to stay rent free at some pretty nice places. Sounds mercenary and it is but neither easily flattered guests nor hard up reps seem to mind that the relationship is as fake as Santa's beard.

I didn’t visit in August 18- I visited davvi arctic lodge in January 2014.

We left early hours an landed in Sweden in middle of the night but which was the day.

We looked at the temperature of the outside on the airport it was -17.

We only had about 2-4 hours of sun light a day. Which it does mess up with your body clock. But from all the holidays I have been on this one is in my top 3.
The sun sets were out of this world as you can see in my pictures. We was luckier enough to see the northern lights on our first night of being there.
Fair enough I will admit it did get cold when we was out looking for the northern lights but you are wrapped up in
hat
groves
t-shirt x2
jumper
trousers
socks x3
Then on top of all that you have a thermal suit which can go to -60 same with the snow boots.
We also did different activity’s when we was there from
Snowmobile safari- which they let you drive a snowmobile out in the worldness and onto a frozen river ( which was 2ft thick of ice)

Dog sleigh ride- which you go around a set track on a dog sleigh being pulling.

Reindeer ride - you go out on a reindeer ride through a few trees and onto the frozen river then when you get back to the reindeer park you go into a tripee and the reindeer guys light their fire for you to have hotdogs and a warm drink.

The church that is in my photos is the church that is in the coke cola advert at Christmas time. It’s a beautiful little church base in north eastern Sweden. It is also the most northern eastern church in the artic circle.

Ice fishing - we got to do ice fishing for a few hours, we had to drive the snowmobile onto the river then we had to drill our own hole until we got to water but us it was -40 on the river. The river froze straight back up, a local walked past us and said you won’t caught nothing today as it is to cold.
But it was the experience of ice fishing we did it for.

I would definitely recommend you all to stay here the staff are friendly and give you all a warmth welcome to Finnish Lapland.

100% happy with this place

Probably one of the best holidays we have ever had, must have been good if my eldest boy cried when we were on the coach back to the airport.

From the moment we arrived we were never bored of something to do. The three trips included were Husky dog ride, snowmobile ride and visit to Santa. All were excellent and well organised.

Seeing the Northern Lights on New Year’s Eve was an added bonus too!!

The hotel is comfortable, food lovely, although sometimes a little busy in the restaurant, so getting down early to get a table is advisable.

Will be going back again definitely.

Incredible trip would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to experience the mix of things and also see the lights the top of the hill location for the northern lights was just magical we were lucky we see them 2 of our 3 nights and they were just beyond words, a few reviews I read about the food but I would like to assure people the food was fantastic hot and tasty yes it not 5 star restaurant food but it filling and believe me in tempetures of below -20 you will be grateful for that. the excursions and all staff were second to none made you feel welcome and like part of a big family . will defiantly be returning in the future
think every visitor has to hire a sledge and come down from the top of the hill bloody brilliant.
clothing - they will supply you with a thermo suite and boots, to be honest I was warmer in my own clothes ( we had specialist thermo wear) but if going for the suites go for bigger than what you uaslly are as I found the tighter the suit the colder I was
