The motel may seem outdated, but overlook that and you will find spacious, spotless and well-maintained rooms, comfortable beds with good quality linen, clean and functional bathrooms, and facilities such as tea/coffee, iron, WiFi. Although the air-con was noisy, it blocked out any other guest noise and cooled the room even on a 42 degree day. There is plenty of parking, plus a basic breakfast. All in all, features that exceed the motel’s budget status. The only negative was the very small pool area/outdoor area which was full of children/babies - OK for families but not for relaxation.

This was our second sty at Bell City. We booked the Corporate Room as I can’t climb stairs and we were quite satisfied. The room is showing it’s age but for the race we have no complaints. Being on the side away from Bell Street we heard no traffic all night.
Parking is on site and there is a pub restaurant just up the road as is the tram stop to take you into the city

The motel is definitely tired but we enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly at reception, continental breakfast was included, good selection of cereal, bread, fruit etc in a nice space. The rooms are a good size, clean. Road noise is a dull constant buzz as you are right on Bell street. As per other posts I’ve read, the pool is a no go zone, not sure why but didn’t stop a few people hanging out there having a few beers.
Gardens and surrounds overgrown.

The room on arrival seemed cleaned but on staying for 2 nights our view changed. The bathroom fan was filthy with fluff, the cold tap on the vanity didn't work well made a horrible noise. Shower tap had to turn hot on full and cold on a bit hard to get right. Loo seat wasn't fitted properly. Carpet in the room needed a good vac around the skirting boards could see fluff and under the bed. Could tell the cutlery & crockery was done on a budget (Kmart). Also our split system for heating didn't work. We were offered a portable heater but it was so bloody noisy.
On getting a receipt the description was we stayed in a corporate room but we we lead to believe we had booked a standard on the ph. Well if that's the case I would hate to see what a standard must look like. Friendly 2 lady staff members but would not stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at Bell Motel for almost 2 weeks. To us it was a hidden gem at a delightful price. Pamela is the most amazing manager and made us feel at home from her very first warm welcome. The room was large and super clean, the bed the comfiest we have slept in for a long time and all staff were friendly, professional and efficient. It reminded us of an old-fashioned motor inn, no fancy decor but lovely clean sheets, heaps of pillows and room to move. We would love to stay there again! Oh and the breakfast was a great start to the day too.

I booked acconodation three months prior to our stay, this was not our first stay there. Four weeks prior to our stay I rang and altered the booking, one of our party was no longer coming. I was informed I could cancel the cheapest room, which I did. Over the next three weeks I contacted the motel to ensure our booking was correct, I had a feeling the male staff member was not listening to me. I was assured all was correct.

On arrival we were charged for the original booking. When we queried this we were advised we were no longer welcome to stay. After discussing this with the male, who I assume was the owner, and pointing out our conversations he directed us to leave. We had travelled nearly ten hours with two small children to now have to find accomodation at 4pm on Friday in Melbourne!

What happened who knows! The owner is a revolting and obnoxious man. Very disappointed as I said have stayed many times over the years. I noted other similar reviews from people. If only I had thought to review this before booking, didn't think I needed to as prior experience was ok.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. THE UNPREDICTABLE BEHVIOUR OF THE MANAGER MIGHT FIND YOU WITH NO WHERE TO STAY.

Omg would never stay here again. This is definently country style... Right from the smell of the rooms, linen, the outside of the building. So many rules posted throughout the place, small rooms, no atmosphere at all. We nearly decided to check out and wear the money we had already paid and then fork out even more to get another room at a decent motel... Even if ur on a tight budget would not recommend this place at all...

Booked hotel to stay for 1 night and had been explained that the room was all together$200 inc bond. Got there and situation changed that the bond was only $200 had a talk with the owner and walked outside to talk about what to do considering we didnt have the $200 extra on us. As soon as we got out they locked all the doors and refused to let us in to pay the extra money they called the police and asked as us leave and police said we were no being abusive and that we have to leave due to the owners choice so we ended up loosing $149 for the room and not being able to check in. Extremely rude service and staff very dissapointed.

We booked in for one night before our flight out the next day. The room we had was cold, dated and had a strong musty smell.
When we attempted to put the heater on it was very noisy. After making a call to the front desk they sent an individual to review the situation. After hearing the heat unit he said he would bring us a mobile oil heater.
We paid $140.00 for the night. The room was no where woth this amount. Offering this as the only solution we decided to move out. When I explained our disappointment and the details supporting our decision, the individual in the office began to get defensive and basically said suit yourself.
There was no other options presented, such as another room (the place was empty).
We decided to try accross the street at the Sleep & Go. We not only found a clean and modern room, it was $114.00/night.
We should have looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor, they speak for themself.
It is hard to believe that they are able to run an accomodation in this manner.
