Detailed Reviews
We stopped here for lunch (again) on the way to Gatton. The Lunch specials are great value and a good standard of pub food with a fresh salad and the best chips ever and only $15. Big pot of tea was welcome all in a pleasant dining room.
I am sure the beer is also good on a hot day.

I stayed 2 nights - rooms were clean, tidy & matress was comfy (for me), meals were very well priced & generous. Wonderful dining room and an eclectic collection of artworks throughout.
Staff were cheerful & accommodating.
A grand old country pub!

Stayed at the pub over night, rooms clean tidy and comfortable, ended up having lunch and dinner there as well. Meals are great steak cooked to my liking, service was excellent and beer nice and cold. I will be back.

12.00 Thursday lunch. Couldn't order a burger at the beginning of service as they had run out - settled for steak sandwich. Then I ordered a couple of drinks, and I felt it a bit rude that the bar person initiated a conversation with, I presumed , a local while still serving me.
The steak sandwich was not good. White warm sandwich loaf, no colour, so, not what I would describe as toasted. A handful of baby spinning, nicely cut cucumber, an enormous amount of raw onion, a very thick slice of capsicum and some grated cheese. B b que sauce that barely stained the stale bread / uncooked toast. The meat was dry and tastless. The salad without either dressing or sauce, not very nice. If there had been cooked onion, grilled cheese or at least sauce on the meat it would maybe have helped. I imagine that the cook has never had a cooking lesson or watched a cooking program or they were lazy and had no pride in what they dished up. Maybe they just gated their job in general or their employer.
The chips were nice. A couple came in after us, left the majority of their meal and left before I had finished my soft drink. I'm told the cook is new.
Don't waste your time until someone who can cook and cares about the food takes over. Total disappointment.

DINNER - such a friendly and welcoming hotel.
The meals were all 10/10......steak, rack of lamb, chicken salad and chicken breast with mushroom sauce.
Good portion sizes too.
Collie dog keeps a watchful eye on the locals and the city dewellers that come through town .

14 of us for lunch in a proper dining room and great country style friendly service. Nothing too much trouble
Didn’t stay there so can’t comment on accommodation but if it’s as good as the service it will be OK. If you like “traditional country” then this is it.

This is s fantastic town really lovely to visit so read looking forward to a few cold beers at the local. Walked in and the lady behind the counter would hardly look up from her ipad growled at me that there was no beer on tap. Was really rude and the place was totally uninviting anyway. Did have an excellent meal at the motel across the road that night.

We stayed for one while night walking the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Friendly staff but I think it was a bit busier than they expected. A problem with our meals resulted in only two of the three rump steaks ordered (they had run out of rib eye) arriving. Eventually the 3rd arrived with the wrong accompanyment. Quality wasn't great. They seem to sell a lot of pizza, mostly take away, it appeared. Perhaps that would have been a better option...
