Extremely friendly and helpful owners, had a small cosy cabin with on suit bathroom. Lovely smell of locally made soap, very clean cabin and beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds, kitchen had everything needed including large fridge/freezer. Highly recommend staying here and don't miss the view of Mt Larcom at the top of the park especially at sunset or walking up Mt Larcom ( some fitness required).
What a wonderful relaxed (and relaxing) small CP this is !! We had the absolute pleasure to spend 4 nights here in May and could have easily remained a few more nights. Set on the highway north of Gladstone, the park is small (but sites large enough for our 9mtr MH), very neat, impeccably clean and exceptionally well run by Geoff and Teena - WELL DONE to you both. We arrived on a Friday and were welcomed with a Bush Poet evening under the stars, complete with campfire and sausage sizzle. If you have the time, don't pass this one by. David and Anne
New managers and just as friendly as the last. Stayed again in the large cabin Hillsborough which it appears has had an update and is stylishly furnished with every amenity we needed. Lovely views of surrounding trees from every window. Small deck to sit on and enjoy a cuppa or a wine. Fantastic halfway stop between Brisbane and Mackay, we highly recommend for cabin stayers but the caravan sites look great too.
Lovely rural setting. Flat sites, but sloping Caravan Park so it doesn’t feel as closed in because most sites have a bit of a view over the top of the neighbour. Friendly management. Nicely kept and clean and tidy. Nice nature walks available directly from the park. Take care if coming from the north, as you turn right off the highway just when it becomes an overtaking lane so there is a good chance someone will be right up your Plaka to overtake someone on the left as you were trying to turn right off the highway…
We stayed at Mt Larcom Tourist Park for one night. It is just off the Bruce Highway. We had a double cabin with ensuite, fully self-contained with kitchenette, the unit was very clean, bed was comfy, air-con worked very well. No Netflix, but free WiFi is available. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This is a great, pet friendly, affordable place to stay short or long term.
We needed a bed for the night and booked in online late in the afternoon. We have stayed in many motels and cabins that have been more expensive but this is the cleanest and most well appointed that we have stayed in. Well done to the owners/managers.
Arrived after 5pm lovely Del let us in To get a cabin with our dog. Cabin was so lovely and immaculately clean. Comfortably furnished. What a quaint lovely park. Will definitely be coming back here for a stay with or with out our van. Great information book in cabins. Thankyou so much
Service was great friendly Management made you feel welcome Very clean and tidy amenities and park Enjoyed Friday night entertainment of bush poet sausage sizzle and campfire Some traffic noise as expected didn’t dampen the great time that was had
Contrary to recent reviews concerning noise and rude owners, we have to say re the noise if you stay at a park 100 meters from the Bruce highway use earplugs,Simple! As for rude owners ,the People who complained maybe need to have a think about their own attitudes, we have just spent 3 nights in one of the cleanest and most welcoming parks, an absolutly gorgeous spot in a very friendly Queensland small regional town we enjoued one of the most pleasant Evenings here with a Sausage sizzle and an absorbing evening of Bush poetry, our Park hosts were just Wonderful, efficient, caring and very friendly, Thank you both so much, just what we needed.xoxo
If you want a quiet place to refresh from the rigours of the drive, then dont stop here. The amenities are clean and welcoming and the owners have thoughtfully made a little walk up a hill to a viewing point which is marked by solar lights at night. A well set up camp kitchen and a share library as well. The owners are friendly and strive to be helpful but the constant unceasing rumble and roar of trucks on the highway and the whine, squeal and horns of the freight trains on the nearby line were upsetting and uncomfortable for me. I became quite unwell and was pleased to leave.
