Detailed Reviews
We have stayed at Mawson Lakes Hotel twice now and I can recommend it to others. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher, made it possible for us to cook our own breakfasts. The room also has a washing machine and dryer and a very spacious bathroom. The bed was comfortable and away from road noise. Staff members are friendly very willing to help.

I was happy with my four night stay. The room was great. It had a little kitchenette and best of all, it had a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom which was handy given that I was attending an aquatic conference and came home with wet towel and bathers each night. The function centre was good but the floor really needed a good scrub. It was very sticky underfoot. Perhaps needs to be stripped back and resealed. The finger food at the function was very tasty. Better than average. The carpets in the hallway upstairs were quite stained and had a bit of a funky smell so perhaps this could be looked into. Once you got in your room, this was not a problem though. The location was great, being close to a shopping centre. I would stay again.

A planned catch up with a group of old friends in the northern suburbs of Adelaide had me looking for accommodation. The Mawson Lakes Hotel was the nearest hotel with accommodation to where I needed to be so it became my first choice. Getting there was easy and the hotel was easy to find. Car parking is provided but is not secure. Check in was easy and the staff informative and pleasant. My room provided everything that was needed and was clean with everything in good working order. The only down side was an effluent smell that emanated from the bathroom. The smell was particularly bad the next morning. A friend who was at the hotel on the same night as me also commented on a similar smell in his room. A buffet breakfast was available in the dining room. The food was basic with the expected options available. I don't think the person that served me was a morning person or maybe she had just having a bad day. Her conversation was just grunts and when I explained that I would like a cooked buffet breakfast she simply pushed a plate and unwanted cup in my my direction and told me to sit where I want.
A reasonably priced hotel with good facilities in an easy to access location. I will stay at the Mawson Lakes Hotel again should I have a reason to stay on the north side of Adelaide.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, overall sounds like you had an enjoyable stay with us :) Great to hear we were able to provide you with accommodation that was easy to find and close to where you needed to be. We do have other apartments with secure parking, maybe you could try those on your next visit :) We apologise for the smell in the room, if we had known, we would have found a solution for you and your friend immediately. In regards to the breakfast and staff, we do apologise for the negative experience you had in the bistro. I will ensure the information gets passed along to the relevant Food and Beverage Manager. We hope we can provide you with an even better experience on your next stay at the Mawson Lakes Hotel. Kind Regards Tania Duncan Guest Service Supervisor

We stayed mid-week which meant that we could enjoy the full comfort of the "honeymood suite". The hotel is located in a very convenient location, close to all shops and with the lake close by, we were able to enjoy a leisurely walk in the late afternoon. We dined at the hotel restaurant with an excellent menu choice.

room suited us for location[close to our family] ,close to a variety of business outlets required to what we were shopping for , easy purchase of meals and drinks inhouse,[without having to drive] ,was a big bonus and under cover car-parking . Only issue was we had our grand kids stay a night with us ,i found the fold-out sofa hard/uncomfortable to sleep on and Main entry/exit door a Big issue , the oldest grandy ,aged 4, opened the door from inside with great ease , manual door lock!!! definately NOT a reliable safety option and could have left the room unknown to us if not properly supervised and in the right circumstances. Overall ,clean ,convenient ,the staff very helpful and friendly , we will stay there again.

Hi Mahargd, Great to hear you loved the location and under cover parking!. Our bistro onsite is a big bonus, come downstairs and enjoy a great meal and drinks :) All rooms within the main hotel have the same door handles and manual door lock, you'll find most hotels have the same. Hopefully next time you stay we can offer you a 2 bedroom (with single beds for the gran kids) no need for a sofa. Kind Regards Tania Duncan

We stayed last minute on a Friday night. There were rooms available but the price was $40 dearer that it has been in the past. When I questioned why it was so much more I was told that when it is busy the price increases. There were rooms that would have gone unused as we did not book until 5pm but I have to pay more becuase there is already more people staying there. That makes no sense - it is the nature of their business to sell overnight accommodation but when they are selling well I have to pay more. I hate getting ripped off and this experience alone will make me consider my options more before booking there again.

Hi Alison L, Thank you for your review. Yes that is correct our rates are entirely dependant on demand. The busier we are the higher the rates, booking last minute as you have means you are booking when the rates are at their highest. If you were to book earlier in the week you would probably get a lower rate compared to the night of booking. Hope this offers some clarity, hopefully we'll see you again. Kind Regards Tania Duncan

Enjoyed staying at Mawson Lakes Hotel, as it was a second visit I chose to stay in a Hotel Apartment. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with kitchenette to cook or reheat takeaways, having a balcony is a bonus. Friendly staff were helpful. Mawson Lakes offers all you need with shopping, hair & nail salons, restaurants, the beautiful Lake all within an easy stroll from the hotel. There is bus and train at your doorstep, also main arterial roads to head to the City, Beaches and Major Tourist attractions. Perfect destination for travellers!

The venue is great, rooms nice, service great and location ideal, thanks. Our party in the function room was perfect with the ability to set up earlier giving us time to wind down before the big event. Thanks Richard for all your help and guidance.

Stayed for night with family of 4. Got an apartment with 2 rooms and one bathroom. Place is clean, spacious. Facilities in the apartment are complete, comes with kitchen, oven, dish washer, washer and dryer. Big living space with dining table and a balcony. Only complaint would be the apartment I got have to be accessed via 2 flights of stairs. I think they do have rooms on single floor. Do check before booking.

I don’t think this is the cleaners fault, as they probably are given minimal time. BUT the floors (grey tile in bathroom and latex effect grey brown wood in main areas) have not been washed in ..... who knows how long. Filthy. Management needs to go and give the rooms a good check. Get some water and soap and rub the floors with a cloth and see what comes off. I’m sure this is not the standard they’d like to come home to. Carpets stained as well. Sheets and towels were clean. In this time of covid I gave the counter surfaces a good clean as based on the floors we were not hopeful. The restaurant food was very good, portion sizes generous, and the staff at reception helpful. We have stayed here a couple of times, but this time the build up of dirt on the floors have convinced us to not come back.
