Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Terrible. 2 steep flights of 40 steps just to get up to it. 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and a one metre wide hallway that has a tv on the wall and. Lounge that only seats three people. No toaster , microwave ,cutlery, plater only a kettle. No little table with chairs or anything comfortable. I told reception when I returned the key and they said they didn’t advertise anything but the photos on booking. Com are a total lie. Don’t go there

Hi Gae, Thanks for the feedback on your stay. You booked our 'budget friendly' studio's of which there are 2 types. There are the 1 bedroom studios that have a full kitchen and lounge area, separate laundry and balcony. The 2 bedroom studio which you booked has just 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a small sitting area. The studios are 150 metres up from the main hotel, and stair access only - all these details are advised over the phone when booking direct, and listed in the room description on all 3rd party websites. If you find yourself in the area again, please call us direct and we can ensure you get something suitable to your needs. Thanks, David

My wife and daughter have driven all day and after arriving at the hotel they were told that they had been moved to another room that had two beds but it was on the opposite part of the hotel in another area away from two other rooms that have been booked at the same time. When my brother-in-law made an inquiry as to why they couldn't move back to the original room they were told that they would have to pay at $400 in order to do that. They weren't given a reason as to why they originally got shifted considering that the 3 rooms we're booked a number of months ago. Would not recommend booking accommodation here because she may not get the room that you're after and they will shift you without notifying you and then expect you to pay $400 to move back

Hello, Im sorry to read this. Im not sure of the specifics of the situation, but we do have 3 buildings of accommodation at the hotel, and room types within the main building are spread around so 'like' rooms are not always next to each other. Once again, I apologise for any confusion, and not having the rooms closer together. Thanks and regards, David

Visiting family in the area, Mawson Lakes Hotel worked out well for us. Our room was large as was the bathroom and we had a balcony too. We did not eat in the restaurant as there were many interesting options nearby. Free parking was provided although it can be quite tight and busy at times. Nice walking trails around the lake and very convenient to the University of South Australia.

Hello, thanks so much for your detailed review of your recent stay with us. We are pleased you found the accommodation to your liking. The rooms do vary greatly with many having balconies, and even kitchenettes and laundry facilities so we can usually find something for everyone. We are well placed in Mawson Lakes as the lake is only a short 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Not to mention the convenience of having a Woolworths and Aldi also within a 2 minute walk. We hope to welcome you back sometime in the future. Thanks again, David

Stayed for 2 nights. Arrived late and the staff were helpful. The room was very spacious and a walking distance to Wollies. Were very hot days and the aircons did the job. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were all very clean. The hotel was faraway from the city but was ok. Night rate is very reasonable

A reasonable Studio Apartment style accomodation. Detached from the main hotel, it was functional and was well located. The beds were comfortable and washing facilities a bonus while travelling. The lounge was basic but was suitable. The check in staff were very friendly and efficient.

We loved it here because it was very convenient, close to supermarket, close to family, in-house bistro with great food (huge meals!) The bed was comfy and so were the pillows. Not sure about the vinyl couch in the room though..lol. But very friendly staff and very accommodating. We will definitely go back there again.

Stayed for night with family of 4. Got an apartment with 2 rooms and one bathroom. Place is clean, spacious. Facilities in the apartment are complete, comes with kitchen, oven, dish washer, washer and dryer. Big living space with dining table and a balcony. Only complaint would be the apartment I got have to be accessed via 2 flights of stairs. I think they do have rooms on single floor. Do check before booking.

Stay for a few days here, the accommodation was ok. The car park was secured. We booked into one of their Central One Bedroom Apartment. Overall is a good place to stay. Maybe we were just unlucky enough to get a bad mattress. The mattress spring has lost its tension. Make you roll to the centre no matter how you try to move to the edge of the bed. Also, make a squeaky sound just by sitting on it. Maybe need an inspection whether needing a replacement or not.

Dinner with Son and Wife. Strange start going to our table. Constant supply of unordered garlic bread. Then mammoth portions of great food. Son had his favorite of chicken snitzel, wife fish and chips and me winggettes and wedges. Couldn't eat it all
