We were recommended Millduck Cottage as part of our research pursuit into building a straw bale house, and it did not disappoint, The cottages are adjacent to the house giving great privacy and we had access to a private courtyard to enjoy. The room was beautifully and thoughtfully laid out and very comfortable. The location is perfect being only 10 minutes from town and yet in idyllically rural. Prue and Ada are passionate and knowledgeable hosts, going above and beyond any expectations we had. The chance to tour their private home and talk about their journey on the property was an invaluable experience for me and my wife. A very inspiring, very beautiful experience for anyone looking for a weekend away.

Thanks Nick for your lovely review. We're glad you & Keyna realised some good ideas which you can use when building your own passive solar home, hopefully using strawbale construction as well. ... ada

No noise, no nasty smellies, cosy room, comfortable bed, great breakfast provisions, treated Royally and lattes served at agreed times are all part of the deal at MillDuck StrawBale B&B. If like me this is your idea of heaven then this place is for you. We are definitely going to return for longer as we loved every minute. I also fell in love with the alpacas.

My partner and I had a great relaxing weekend away from the city bustle at this cosy B&B set atop a hill with amazing views. The room was well furnished, clean and well stocked with everything you'd need to hideaway for a few days. We brought groceries with us to make lunch and dinner so we wouldn't need to leave the property but there are plenty of towns nearby with great cafes and restaurants. The alpacas on the farm were fun to say hello to when we were walking around the property and there's heaps of walks in and around the property. The hosts were great during our stay, very hospitable yet maintained our privacy the whole time. We didn't get to use the fireplace in our room, but will definitely be back in winter.

A wonderfully peaceful haven, tucked away in the Harcourt Hills - Millduck Strawbales B & B. The accommodation, being built of straw bales with extremely thick walls, was of an exeptionally high standard and the natural temperature of the room was very inviting. Our hosts have obviously worked very hard to ensure the ambience of this special place is perfect and provided my husband and myself a beautiful memory - of peace and tranquillity to rest our busy minds - the perfect place just to "be". Sincerest thanks Ada & Prue
