Going to this place was like finding a gem. Stunning surrounds, comfortable bed and a view to fields and horses. Seriously one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in - and we use them a lot. I particularly appreciated Lynn's attentiveness, tea in the garden and home made bread

Lyn is an exceptionally engaging host, very welcoming and full of ideas. There is a very natural feel about the place ... real fresh milk and no little cartons of UHT because who actually enjoys that?? No mobile signal for my O2 network, but Lyn very happy for us to use her phone for national calls. Lovely room (though bedding...

We returned to Callaly Cottage Retreat and it was just as lovely as last time. Lynn is great and can't do enough, she's full of good ideas and very knowledgeable of the area. Had a walk around Holme Park on the edge of Alnwick, then we went to the castle gardens which was an amazing place. Alnwick is a lovely...

We booked into Callaly Cottage Retreat really to fill a gap between needing to see friends in the Scottish Borders and spending the evening at Keilder Observatory the evening before. We're pleased we did and wished it was a longer stay. Lyn is such a lovely host, making you feel very welcome and at ease. With beautiful rooms, a cracking...

We stayed 2 nights over last weekend. We usually stay on the coast, but were really pleased to experience this beautiful countryside location. Room 1 is very big and has a lovely calming muted pale green and wood décor. Also electric blankets on the beds, which was very nice. Very nice touches such as Twinings tea bags, nice biscuits, lots...

This is a really wonderful bed and breakfast in the peaceful countryside, a pleasant drive away from Alnwick. We could see horses outside the window, which added nicely to the countryside feeling. Breaky was great, highly recommend the kippers! We had a luxurious bathroom with a lovely bathtub, and the bedroom had a generous amount of space. Furnishings were of...

We almost reluctant to write this review as we want to keep this wonderful haven all to ourselves! Callaly Cottage Retreat is by far the best stay we have had in Northumberland. Everything from the friendliness of the hosts to the stunning views, amazing rooms and delicious breakfasts combined to make this a perfect weekend away. Nestled deep in Northumberland,...

Perfection is: - a very friendly welcome; beautiful bedroom and bathroom; a breakfast that has to be seen to be believed - if you have heard of 'fruit salad' you will never have seen one this this before - it was so pretty to look at and absolutely delicious; nothing was too much trouble to make us feel really at...

We had a very relaxing 3 days at Callaly. Unfortunately Lyn had torn her cruciate ligament again the day we were arriving, this did not really affect our stay and normal cooked breakfast resumed on the Sunday and Monday morning. Both Calum and Lyn were are very hospitable people and we loved watching the bird life from our bedroom window,...

Our first visit, certainly not our last. Couldn't fault the hospitality, the beautiful rooms, the stress releasing massage (if only we could have taken Lyn home with us), the tasty breakfast and the advice for first timers in the county. Wish we had had a longer stay.
