I visited the Tahyaho Lodge this past spring break (middle or March). The trip was the most unique, adventurous, and fun experience I have ever had. It was my first time in South America ever. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff with big smiles and warm welcomes. Located deep within the Amazon rainforest, the Tahuayo Lodge and research...

I spent 8 eye-opening days in early March (2017) at Tahuayo Lodge, a 2.5 hour boat ride from Iquitos, Peru. The Tahuayo River is a tributary off the Amazon, in a pristine area unfrequented by the many tourist boats touring the main river. Amazonia Expeditions manages the property and employs capable local people as guides and custodians. It was an...

A friend and I recently spent March 25-April 3 at Tahuayo lodge and at the research centre, a smaller version of the lodge. This is my kind of place. The rooms are thatched wooden cabins, like summer camp but for grownups who want to be comfortable, and are totally in keeping with their surroundings, The showers are cool (not cold!) and...

Our 10 days from late March through early April were divided between the lodge and research center. The lodges are not fancy, (think cold showers) but they don't lack for comfort and fit perfectly into their environment. The noises all come from the critters that go bump in the night. Dawn is dominated by yellow- rumped caciques, owl noises abound....

I made very spontaneous to book at Amazonia Expeditions after a great word of mouth recommendation from a fellow traveller I met while in Peru. Although all their experienced guides were booked out, I was offered a trainee personal guide - this is extremely accommodating and shows the owners have 100% trust in their staff. The guide was highly knowledgable...

I had the privilege of spending a month at the Tahuayo lodge including a few days at the research lodge. Every aspect of my journey from booking to my reluctant farewell was amazing. The guides are all very professional and amazingly talented. My guide was exceptional and made accommodations for my needs. The staff are wonderful and always helpful with...

We had an amazing week at the Tahuayo Lodge. The staff were very friendly and made us feel like part of the family. The food was excellent. Our guide Javier showed us so many cool things. We saw many species of birds, monkeys, snakes, frogs and insects. We got to swim with pink dolphins and try our hand at spear...

As a city dweller and lover, the Amazon jungle is not the first place I think of for a vacation! However, my nephew wanted to see the animals of the jungle and my wife found the Tahuayo Lodge on line and after a few clarifications from Paul, it was clear that we were in good hands and felt safe taking...

We spent our honeymoon with Amazonia Expeditions and could not have had a better vacation! My new husband and I were met at each point of our journey and escorted to our hotels/tours by friendly guides. All tours in Cusco and Macchu Picchu were small or private (at most 10 people) and the tour guides were all very knowledgeable. We...

My wife, son (11) and myself stayed at the main lodge from March 31st to April 4th, 2017. We had such a great experience. Prior to booking, all of our questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. Communication was so easy. From the moment we were picked up from our hotel to when we were dropped back off every staff member...
