#1 of 2 hotels in Playa Langosta
2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
We’re family-owned and our passion shows. Cala Luna is one of the only hotels in Guanacaste, Costa Rica that remains green all year round. There are few barriers between us and nature. Open-plan spaces and secluded accommodations meld into the lush jungle that attracts more wildlife than anywhere else in the area – monkeys, raccoons, iguanas, birds, insects, and us. Within this natural retreat, we offer five-star barefoot luxury that’s open to everyone. We nourish our senses daily through delicious home-grown ingredients, gastronomic farm-to-table dinners, holistic wellness, spa therapies, and deep connection to Mother Earth. From dining with us at our homestead La Senda and walking the world’s largest labyrinth, to sipping cocktails on the beach as the sun slips over the edge of the ocean – you choose the memories to carry home. Welcome to an unforgettable experience.

The jungle atmosphere with the private hotel rooms are so cool! The howler monkeys are there to greet you & Flora made the best hot chocolate! We asked Alex at the front desk where to get a suitcase & bought one for us & brought it back to us!!! Incredible service- above & beyond what we expected! Close enough to town that you can rent carts to drive to town. Great location, great place to be to relax.

Loved everything about Cala Luna. We were two couples staying in the 2 bedroom villa with a private pool and it was perfect. You can walk to the the center of Tamarindo or take a short taxi. The great thing about Cala Luna is it is away from the craziness of downtown Tamarindo. The beach is natural, no cabanas but they will set you with loungers if you want. There is a lovely pool and if you're lucky the howler monkeys will put on a show for you. Breakfast was plentiful. The staff is wonderful, very helpful. Treat yourself to a special treatment by Camila.

My fiancé and I stayed at Cala Luna for five nights and wish we never had to leave! The staff, the property, the food was simply perfect for a tropical escape. Convenient to busier Tamarindo by a $5 cab or ten minute walk, we started each day with a lovely included breakfast and loved every waking moment. The rooms are clean comfortable and private, with lush jungle trails connecting to the pool the beach and on-site restaurants. Great for couples families and anyone seeking the Pura Vida!
