Our family had the whole house to ourselves and it was just bliss. The house is clean and tidy and sitting out on the verandah eating our breakfast was just heaven. The breakfast is continental but there is loads to eat including fresh strawberries, blueberries and croissants, yum. We loved staying here and would definitely stay there again.

We recently stayed in this accommodation as a family group, since there were few reviews we were unsure of what to expect but decided to stay anyway since it was the only accommodation we could find that could accommodate our group of 5 plus the dog.
We noted as we arrived the B&B looked like an ordinary house, not commercial at all, and although that was at first a mild concern it ended up being a huge plus because we totally felt at home after our first day.

Our host was very friendly although we really did not see a lot of her. There were no out of bounds areas in the house so we made full use of both the TV lounge area and the games lounge, we also felt comfortable preparing our picnic lunch in the comunial kitchen.

Our bedrooms which included the family room ( a trilogy bunk) and a queen bedroom with private ensuite were both very comfortable, linen was clean and towels were soft and fluffy.

We were wakened early morning by kookaburras and parrots which we all really enjoyed.

Our dog was not allowed in the bedroom ( which is where she sleeps at home) but the host made her comfortable in the laundry and the garden area was fenced so there was no concerns about her escaping in a strange town.

The house is very close to the beach and parks, about 2 klm to the nearest shops and 5 klm to Huskisson where we went each night for dinner, all in all very central.

We would stay at this property again and look forward to seeing future reviews, we will be recommending to our friends.

My friend and I booked the family room and stayed here for 2 nights. It has been a wonderful stay and we enjoyed every minute of it. This place is cozy and spacious with heart-warming decor and pretty much everything you need during a vacation(wii, movies...). Our host Lilian was very friendly as well as her cute little puppy Sally. Don't worry about not being able to get around without a car, the host also provides bicycles rental service, which is a huge plus for travelers like us! All in all we highly recommend Nelson Beach Lodge to whoever considers coming to Jervis Bay!

We just arrived home after our family stay at the Beach Lodge and we wish we were back.
We had a group of 10 with 3 children and we still had room to spare.
There were many places to eat, sleep, socialise, read a book, watch a movie or enjoy a glass of wine.
Great location with just a short stroll to the beautiful Nelson's beach and a good size yard for the kids to run around in.
I visited this property last year before Lilian had taken over and WOW- has she done a good job. The yard, the new "den" (as we named it) was perfectly renovated, the little bits and pieces that have made such a big difference
Highly recommend this to families, groups, couples or singles!

The location is a short walk to the beach. The bedroom was at the front of the house facing the road,. so some traffic noise in a morning. It was quite large, no TV and a little dark with the wood panelled walls. Bathroom was adequate in size with toiletries provided, in the shower the soap dishwas dirty.
Guest lounge is at the top of the stairs with TV, tea, coffee and biscuits supplied. A little dark with the wood panelling not helped with a bulb missing in the light fitting.
Breakfast was fruit, yogurt, cerials, toast and home made jams.
The owner and other guests were very friendly.
You have to make your own beds
The dog in the downstairs lounge made the hoiuse a little smelly.

I came accross your review when updating Nelsons Beach Lodge web presence, I purchased NBL in January this year, since Im keeping the name I decided to leave your review but respond to it as an update. The two dogs that lived at the property are nolonger here, they left with the previous owner. All light fittings have been replaced and ceiling fans installed in all bedrooms and the games room which was formally the guest lounge. Guests are now invited to use the whole house including the entrance lounge, sunroom, kitchen and laundry. The wood panels on the walls have to stay! but the whole house has been brightened with fresh furnishings and decorations which reflect a beach theme since we are just 300 mtrs from Nelsons Beach. The ensuite bedroom ( which from your review is probably the one you had) has been fitted with a TV and Ipod clock radio, the bathroom fittings have been replaced and new locks have been installed on all bedroom doors. All windows have been fitted with new dressings which offer privacy when needed and assist with eliminating street noise. I hope when your next in the area you can pay a visit to see these changes for yourself and you may consider staying at the property sometime in the future. Thakns for reading Lilian Nelsons Beach Lodge.

This house is in a good spot close to the beaches and with in walking distance to parks and beaches. But that is where it ends, the house is very dark and needs a good spring clean and the amenities need to be repaired. Dishwasher not bolted in to cavity so fell out when loading and needed repairs to sharp edges, washing machine hooked up to hot water only, yet a sign said be careful of hot water usage? screen door to top balcony needed repairs and kept falling off and no screen door on bottom level so could not open on the hot days. Top balcony overgrown with wisteria vine and a good 3rd could not be used, and also needed a good clean. Backyard was a jungle and the kids and dogs could not enjoy it let alone have a family BBQ outside.Vines growing through the bottom level windows and we shared our holiday with a red belly black snake because of the jungle. When you pay a premium price for a holiday you do expect a certain level of quality. The owner however did try and fix some of the issues but seemed unaware of the overall disrepair of the property.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review on Trip advisor, Im thrilled that you loved the location, however it is disappointing that you were unhappy with the presentation of the house, for the benefit of other readers please allow me to respond to your important comments. The house is decorated with wooden cladding, clearly shown in the representative photographs, the cladding does create a darker atmosphere than gyp-rock would, the upside of this is that the living areas are cool even on hot days which most previous guests have found welcoming. From the comments you made during your stay and in this post the cleanliness of the house obviously wasn't up to your standard, although I did not agree with your comments at the time of your stay as a gesture of goodwill I provided a professional cleaner to give the house a mid stay clean during your stay at my expense, she was given no instructions from me and advised to follow your requests regarding cleaning, she did comment afterwards that more than a good 30 minutes of her booked time was used listening to you complain about the house, right down to the fact that books and videos provided were not appropriate, with this in consideration Im concluding that the cleanliness wasn't really the issue for you or clearly her time would have been better utilised. Ive spoken to a plumber re bolting the dishwasher to the wall, its not recommended, if the appliance has a problem and catches alight it cannot be pulled out of the cavity, loading one rack at a time solves the problem you had. There are no signs in the house advising caution around hot water usage, there are signs advising the hot water system is on an overnight timer system, you must have misread! however the machine is hooked up to hot and cold water so if you only managed a cold water wash I would suggest user error. I acknowledge you had a visit from a red belly in the garden during your stay, after speaking with neighbours Ive been advised its been visiting several gardens in the area, I did organise a snake catcher twice during your stay to remove the snake, the house is situated in an area which is close the the national park and as well as this visitor we also get lots of other wildlife, including possums, bandicoots, rabbits, kangaroos and an array of tropical birds, obviously the others are welcome visitors which is probably why you haven't mentioned them in your post. The wisteria is beautiful when in flower, it provides needed shade on what is a very large, sun drenched veranda, I agree it needed to be trimmed back from the entrance door and apologise for that inconvenience. Generally I would never discuss the tariff charged for this property on an open forum, however since its a point you raised negatively I feel entitled, you paid $464.00 a night plus GST for the property, the house sleeps up to 15 people and is pet friendly, your group registered as 8 people and 2 dogs in attendance, (although you actually had 3 dogs with you), this is not something which most holiday home owners in the area would approve, however the tariff on the house during your stay equated to $58.00 per person plus g.s.t. per night, considering your booking was during Christmas holidays and included Boxing Day, your comments about a premium price paid does surprise me. Its worth also noting that the tariff does not change, the house sleeps up to 15 people so the larger the group, the cheaper the house per person. You will be happy to know we do take all comments seriously and have taken your comments re veranda screen doors as constructive, the screen doors are being replaced.

This house was perfect for our winter break, so warm and cozy, the owner has thought of everything from super comfy bedding, high chair, board games, DVDs and book library right down to fresh milk and biscuits. We loved arriving to fresh flowers, fruit bowls from the garden fruit trees and chocolates in the tv room. We didn't need to light the log fire as the weather was amazing but it was already prepared with plenty of logs and paper to spare.
We were a family of 5 but this house could accommodate a larger family, it's just a few minutes stroll from a beautiful beach and parklands of Jervis Bay.
The owner provided bikes free of charge also discount tickets for a whale cruise, absolutely outstanding value, we're so happy we found Nelsons Beach Lodge, we will return!

It is a lovely house, with bathroom and kitchen freshly renovated, clean room and also lots of extra stuff provided. House is quite close (3 mins walking) to the beautiful nelson beach, which is dog friendly too. And during the wet days, our two 3-year-old boys found lots of funny toys/blocks, also four of us had fun from completing puzzles and playing board games too. We do love the place and thanks Lilian for all your kind help :). Only thing missing is the dryer, but you wont need it on sunny days at all!

Thank you Clair, loved your review, Im very happy that you enjoyed your recent stay in our holiday home, it was unfortunate that the weather wasnt great during your stay dates, we choose not to include a clothes dryer for safety reasons as some people tend to leave clothing drying when they leave the property or go to bed which could cause a fire hazard but I do understand how useful they can be when you have young children. Nice to hear the toy cupboard was discovered :-)

We were a group of 12 friends and the house fit all of us very comfortably. We loved having a few living areas so we weren't on top of each other all the time and we loved evenings out the back by the BBQ. The beach was beautiful and very close. It was convenient that the shops were a short drive away too.
