We were treated to a fantastic tour of the jungle and beach on horseback. We have been to this area many times but never checked out Tiskita. If you are in the Zancudo/Pavones area, you MUST go to Tiskta.

The combination of staying in the tropical forest, and being able to walk to a great Pacific beach, sets this place apart. The accommodations are terrific, and the owners and staff are uniformly helpful. Could anything beat squirrel monkeys 3 ft. away watching you eat breakfast? Food is well-prepared and "tipica" to Costa Rica. We would return again in a...

Excellent Jungle lodge with an abundance of wildlife. Arrived by air, landing on a grass runway. Within minutes say Tuncan, monkeys and macaws. Rooms were clean and well kept. Fans but no air conditioning which was not really an issue. The restaurant was good and the staff excellent. One evening watch as baby turtles were released into the ocean. very...

We first stayed at Tiskita Jungle lodge in 2006, and we have returned, with ever-greater enthusiasm, every year since then. We now plan to stay each February for about 3 weeks. Tiskita is a lovely, family-run eco-lodge with a wide variety of things to see and do -- wildlife (especially monkeys and birds!), the beach, the rain-forest trails, the swimming...

Wheelchair access is not something I ever expect when adventure traveling internationally, but Tiskita has gone out of their way to make their facilities as accessible as any remote lodging I've ever stayed at. My cabaña was 100% accessible, and I mean entry, doors, deck, bathroom, shower (need your own bench) and all, and the birding and wildlife easily viewable...

I think it's important to separate the facility from the setting. It was wonderful watching the monkeys travel though the trees and the macaws circling overhead. The setting is in the middle of a restored jungle; but the lodge was built by Peter and it shows. I have spent time "off the grid" -- Mara, Kenya; "end of the road"...

To use another guest's comment - 5* Rustic. The wildlife was VERY accessible- any short walks in the grounds set us scrambling for the camera. Amazing. Sitting on the lawns at the main lodge with a coffee before breakfast was both relaxing and exciting in equal measure. The variety of birds was awesome, with squirrel monkeys, capuchins, sloths, iguanas, frogs...

I visited the nature preserve at Tiskita and spent a wonderful 2.5 hours on a guided tour walking through their preserve. It was a wonderful experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and university educated. He was able to spot a two toed sloth up in a tree shortly after we started our walk that was very difficult to see. I...

My wife and I were lucky enough to spend an amazing 7 days in this tropical paradise. All of the staff and the owners were wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. The "Tiskita" experience is one that could not be duplicated anywhere. The flora and fauna was beyond belief. There are numerous opportunities for hiking, bird watching, fishing and surfing. Take advantage...

This morning we took a guided 2.5 hour walk through the jungle at Tiskita Lodge. This area has been reclaimed from pasture land. We were lucky and saw 10 types of wildlife. The guide, Mario, was extremely knowledgeable, obviously University educated. Will do this again, when I come back.
