Detailed Reviews
Lunching with a large group on a busy Sunday, I was let down by having to wait for a meal. I think I started mine as others in the group of about 10 people were finishing.
Unfortunately my curry was not worth the wait. The other meals seemed up be up to a more consistent standard with what you would expect at a hotel. The curry was not really even a curry (not at all hot or spicy). It seems that their wasn't much love in the Kitchen for this dish.
The service from the guy taking orders was actually quite abrupt as he seemed to be stressed about the line up waiting to order. His female coworker was apologetic for his interaction and also seemed a bit embarrassed.
Overall I would go again without high expectations, and order the standard schnitzel type meal.

Excellent country pub on the Mighty Murray river. Added bonus is the free car ferry and the free camping on other side of the river. Their counter meals are excellent value and delicious to boot. Highly recommend

Ten of us went to the Swan Reach Hotel for lunch in very nice and modern surroundings. Although we ate our meals inside you could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the river. Our meals were absolutely delicious. Nearly everyone in the group enjoyed the meals that they received. The one person that did not explained to the waitress why she did not appreciate her meal and was offered another which she thoroughly enjoyed. The Caesar Salad with chicken (which is what I had) was so yummy.

This was not our first visit to the Swannie but our first since new owners have been in place and not did this new team nail it!
A pretty busy Sunday lunch service and ours, plus a great many others, including a large group (who turned up without booking) were fed excellent meals in an amazing amount of time.
The kitchen team should feel very proud!
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunches - one a stuffed prosciutto wrapped chicken breast with garlic sauce, the other battered butterfish. Both were succulent and well cooked, tasty chips/mash and nice sides of brocollini/salad. Really delicious tartare sauce with the fish, pretty sure it was house-made too.
Cold drinks overlooking the stunning Murray River and friendly service too, highly recommend this place for a scenic lunch or dinner.

The single worst dining experience of my life. The food was very average only exceeded by the worst service you could imagine. I lined up to order, asking the lady behind the counter about some items on the menu as one of our kids has severe anaphylaxis to egg and nuts. The lady behind the counter was unsure of the answers and completely disinterested in asking the kitchen despite understanding the severe reaction.
We were then served flat tasteless lemonade, when I went to the bar to get another the barman ignored me while asking the locals if they wanted another round, serving everyone who hadn’t even been asking for a drink before finally replacing my drink without acknowledgment or an apology.
Then the terrible food came and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Truly terrible service. They seem to resent the customers. I have never seen anything quite like it.

+1
Late booking. Three of us met in Gawler for a motorcycle ride. Late decision to lunch at Swan Reach. Was busy day for the staff. The restrictions playing a big part. Schnitzel 2 beef 1 chicken, salad and chips with beers. Great weather cold out riding but a great day. Cheers to the staff. Thanks Colin for leading.

Ate two nights running and the meals both nights were excellent. would certainly return again if in the area. The Menu is varied and the wine list more than reasonable.
staff attended promptly, and provided useful advice regarding wine list.

We had one of the best counter meals I have ever had! The meals were very reasonably priced and delicious! We had a group of 12, all meals were out together and all agreed it was a fantastic meal! I really enjoyed my Chicken Swanee! Highly recommend the Swan Reach Hotel!

We camped on the river banks and headed over the river on the ferry to Swan Reach. The pub is up the hill a little bit so has great views over the Murray. Had a dink and watched the river. Staff were not friendly, but plenty of the locals were. Place looked a bit grubby. Don't think they are looking forward to the tourist season!

Judging by the fact there was at least two while we were there I'd have to say Yes. Both were well trained and quiet and looked quite at home.
