Newton house is a nice hotel with nice and comfortable rooms. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was good, we did not eat in on the second night due to the fact that they took off half of the menu options with out any apologies. The breakfast was good but on the second day...

Had an overnight stay from a Wowcher deal. Started with afternoon tea - lovely combination of sandwiches, cakes (with jam and cream and the option of sparkles or tea to drink. Most enjoyable. Not a lot around to take a look at -unless your a walker so we jumped back in the car and visited Ashbourne instead. Limited choice of...

Booked this using Groupon and was a little concerned we may get put in one of the smaller rooms we'd read in earlier reviews. No we were greeted with a very friendly lady on reception and within 2 mins were chatting comfortably about her upcoming Barcelona weekend like we'd known her a while. We were given room 12 which had...

Newton house is my new favourite place for a tea and cake. We walk down the Tissington trail to build up an appetite! Staff are always friendly and welcoming, even when we arrive with muddy dogs and kids!

We stopped over here for 1 night. We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival to the hotel. Our room was very spacious with a lovely, comfortable 4 poster bed. The room had a cosy atmosphere and was very dark at night which was good. Thankfully the room was at the back of the hotel as it is situated...

We had a nice room but the shower was awful. No atmosphere whatsoever , couples watching game shows in the small bar with no music. Restaurant empty and was advised to go into Ashbourne for food which was strange , but worked out better as we had an amazing Indian meal. Not bad for a stop over but nothing else

We booked a two night stay along with our dog. We were greeted very well by reception. The room we were allocated was in the annex in the courtyard, a super spacious and clean room. Had a cream tea which was lovely and presented well as was the breakfast. Our dog was accepted really well by all the staff and...

We stayed here because we were given a Wowcher Voucher for a one night stay here as a present. Nice setting in the Peak District and would make a good place for a centre to explore this area. Staff we friendly and helpful. Every where was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the double room we had was tiny. Nowhere to put...

Stayed here for one night on a wowcher deal. We stayed in the main building in room 23 which was at the top. The room was large but very cold and damp. It was a good job we had 2 single beds not in use as we needed the duvets to keep us warm. Afternoon tea was average as was...
