What used to be an isolated island far off the Swedish west coast providing shelter only to the light house personnel and sea pilots, is today accessible by a fast boat 30 minutes out from either Hamburgsund or Fjallbacka. Vareroernas Vardshus caters to the discerning travellers looking for the last hidden gems on the planet. You will only be able... More

My husband and my sister and her husband and I took the boat from Fjallbacka and spent the night in the "guesthouse" on this fantastic island. The rooms are basic, and you pay an almost unreasonable amount for an ensuite. But honestly, how often do you get to stay on a beautiful island where you can sit and look at... More

We visited the Väderörarnas Vardshus in August 2015. The views on the most western islands in Sweden are great! The atmosphere is just great. The staff is very friendly and everything is very clean. The food they serve is excellent. However there are some downsides: We communicated with the office that we wanted non-seafood and got it confirmed. The restaurant... More

This westernmost outpost on the Swedish coast is definitely worth a visit. Not once, but again and again. The tranquility you'll experience when you sit in the top glazing out towards the sea... The joy you'll feel when you discover some seals lying lazy on the cliffs, and the taste of the cold dewey draft... It's impossible to describe; words... More

Truly magical. This hotel is basic but feels entirely pure. When we stayed we were one of only two rooms being occupied. With a view of the harbour, the seagulls, the wind whistling through, the clean and airy rooms, it felt like a safe haven. The food was among the best we had in Sweden. Starters of smoked prawns, mackerel... More

We took a day trip to Väderöarna - and it was worth every cent. The 30-min boat ride from Fjällbacka, the wonderful fish lunch w Chardonnay, the walk to the pilot's house, the 45-min hike around the island. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful! Pure romance! We will be back and can only recommend this gem!

Boat transport from Fjällbacka. Many come here by private boat. Many small barren smooth rock islets. The main one has a light house and a nice Inn by the small harbour. If you can - sleep, dine and relax here in the sauna/bath barrel at the Inn. There is so much air, sky, wind and salty clear water everywhere. Enjoy... More

This is a place you go to to enjoy the elements in a harsh and beautiful setting. The hotel is just the means to be able to do that. The hotel is simple and clean (except the common toilets and showers...). Beds are comfortable, but the rooms a little too small with no space to put your luggage. Food was... More

This place is fantastic. After a short boat trip from Fjellbacka , you are in this fantastic place. Very good food. The rooms is a little bit old-fashion. No TV, and no refrigerator in the rooms. Also you should be aware of that you have to share toilets and showers with all the other guests.
