We stayed overnight in a lovely room with its own lounge area. Very nicely appointed with a lovely bathroom. We all had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight.....one of the best meals I have eaten. Excellent cooking and a well balance menu. All of it was spot on. Excellent service. The following mornings breakfast was very nicely cooked... More

We stayed on the Autumn offer of dinner bed and breakfast, with champagne before the meal and an upgraded room. The whole stay was absolutely perfect. There was a warm welcome and our upgraded suite was comfortable, quiet and welcoming over looking the village green. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. We went down for our meal and the... Excellent in every respect today, delicious meal with friendly attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere Coal fire in lounge kept at appropriate strength throughout, lovely comfortable sofas etc and timing just right at all stages of the meal Not been before but on the basis of my experience today highly recommended especially at £45 for this standard of cuisine

Stayed here for three nights for bed, breakfast and evening meal. Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel and the menu/food that we had was absolutely outstanding. Have dined in a 2 star michelin restaurant in the last 18 months and the dishes at The Yorke Arms I think were better than the 2 starred. Beautiful walks and many national trust sites... More

This review is for the hotel – for restaurant review please see separate entry. I don't know why, but I had it in my head that the rooms and "hotel" aspect of the Yorke Arms would be more luxurious than they actually are. The exterior of the building is beautiful, and because it is so old, you can expect, and... More

We visited the Yorke Arms for our wedding anniversary, we have eaten there quite a few times over the years but always with other couples, we never realised it was like eating in a library! We arrived for 8.00 and had a couple of drinks in the bar perused the menu and made our choices, we were then shown to... More

Top end on price ahead of some top london spots It was good but not... More

As a birthday treat, stayed here and did 8 course tasting menu. Food was beautiful, although I think a cheese board sometimes can be waste of a course in surprise tasting menu and I'd rather see another inventive dish, albeit that it was a very good cheese course. We stayed in a beautiful room, complete with 4 poster bed. My... More

We decided to both eat and stay at the Yorke Arms as a birthday treat and were not disappointed! We stayed in room 1, a lovely ground floor suite overlooking the front. With its four-poster bed, lovely bathroom and sitting area, it was perfect for our overnight stay. The staff was friendly and helpful with no pretensions. We had a... More
