Over the Easter holiday we decided to take a road trip staying at Fonab Castle, Inverlochy Castle, Crossbasket Castle – all in Scotland, and the Yorke Arms in North Yorkshire. Whilst our clear favourite was Inverlochy Castle, the Yorke Arms ranks last. I will explain why. I had wanted to visit the Yorke Arms since seeing the restaurant on TV...

I can't add anything more to all the favourable comments. Just to say a 2 day visit for our wedding anniversary was memorable. We felt at home from the start. The food was cooked to perfection . The room was as good as many top hotels. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. We will return.

Arguably the best restaurant in "The North" An 18th century coaching house in Ramsgill in Nidderdale is the perfect setting for this Michelin starred restaurant with rooms. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive, the menu exquisite and the cellar vast. This is great for lunch but to enjoy the experience to the full better to stay for dinner and stay the...

My partner booked an overnight stay including a la carter dinner and breakfast at The Yorke Arms for my birthday. We had high expectations obviously but certainly weren't disappointed in any way. From the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for us and the service, food, room and general level of hospitality was absolutely second to none....

My wife and I stay at the York Arms, Ramsgill on Saturday evening. We stayed in Room 1, which is large and has a four poster bed, and well equipped bathroom. Our main reason for revisiting was of course for the excellent food, wine and service. It completely lived up to our expectations. There is sufficient choice on the menu...

We visited The Yorke Arms for a celebratory dinner with friends. We chose the 8 course tasting menu and accompanying wine flight, all I which was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. We rented Ghyll cottage just over the road, the perfect solution for 4 people sharing.

Called in today for lunch after going many years ago for a weekend life before children. We asked if we could do informal and have a bar lunch as advertised on their web site. We were placed at the one and only table in the bar surrounded by staff who were waiting on the restaurant. Could not fault the food...

A trip to celebrate my birthday. Couldn't have been better. The room was lovely, the Hotel a delight. The service exemplary and the food sublime. Highly recommended - not cheap, but well worth it. A special mention for the bread - so often overlooked, but here, wonderful!
