I visited Rippon safari lodge in October 2013 and it was one of the greatest experiences ive ever had. The moment we arrived until the moment we left the staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you. The grounds surrounding the lodge are amazing with little creatures and animals often roaming around. The rooms and whole lodge have...

We stayed at Rippons for three nights and after a shaky start had a fantastic experience. We got lost while trying to find the lodge and ended up driving for over two hours in the dark around the Shamwhari Reserve!! We took the first left turn from Port Elizabeth signposting the Shamwhari Reserve instead of the second left turn. However...

It was our second visit after coming initially in 2012, my husband booked it for my birthday and we combined it with driving the garden route. After our first visit we have recommended Rippons to friends and they have also had an amazing time. The accommodation is clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable but I think what sets Rippons apart is...

Rippon’s Safari Lodge was a fantastic place to stay, and our safari experience was excellent. Our guide, Rhynhardt, was terrific, incredibly knowledgeable and very keen to show his guests the very best that Shamwari has to offer. We had very exciting close encounters with elephants, lions, rhinos, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and many more creatures besides. Rhynhardt explained all about the...

What can I say, we were truly amazed by the warm welcome we got from Brian and his team! With Rippons as our first destination we got to the beautiful lodge just after 1PM and after a full day travelling we were cooked an ostrich steak dinner which was a lovely start to the stay. We checked in no problem...

For our honeymoon we planned a three week tour of south Africa. Part of that tour was to include a safari. My husband is particularly interested in animals and I was happy to go as thought it would be something I would also enjoy. I had completely underestimated how much I would enjoy this. It is an experience that will...

“Choose the long barn...patio area is a sun trap...room looks out over the valley and watering hole...rooms are massive with the biggest bathroom I've ever seen!”
BillandDorothy, 2 Aug 2014 | Read review
“All 3 room types are very spacious and modern. The long barn is good for couples and it overlooks the pool and valley. There are 2 annexe rooms which are the size of cottages inside which would be perfect for families or a group of friends.”

“The Long Barn was a good choice for us”
Holleeds, 3 May 2014 | Read review
“Couples should ask for a room in the Long Barn as no children allowed. Rooms in the house are 2 floor suites ideal for families or several couples travelling together. The Old Vet building has around 5 smaller suites but still much larger than an average European Hotel, and have seperate bunk bed room for children”
